Evil Geniuses and ESL have mutually decided to terminate their partnership, marking another significant departure for the American esports organization. This decision comes amid speculation that Evil Geniuses is contemplating a complete exit from the esports scene.

End Of The 'Louvre Agreement'

The dissolution of the partnership includes the end of Evil Geniuses' involvement in the 'Louvre Agreement,' a deal forged in 2020 that granted the organization automatic invitations to ESL Pro League seasons and various other ESL competitions. Additionally, the organization received a share of the revenue generated from these events.

The recent shakeup within Evil Geniuses has seen the departure of key players from their Counter-Strike roster. Notably, Jadan "HexT" Postma and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte moved to NRG in late November, followed by Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott and Paytyn "junior" Johnson joining Nouns on Thursday.

EG Underperformance And Partnership Persistence

Despite consistently ranking as the lowest-performing partnered team, with four last-place finishes in the last six ESL Pro League seasons and two seasons without reaching the playoffs, Evil Geniuses remained a part of the 'Louvre Agreement.' This continued association endured even after triggering a clause that subjected a permanent slot to review if a partner team placed last in three out of four seasons.

As speculation continues to mount regarding their broader exit from esports, questions arise about the organization's future trajectory. The recent series of departures and the termination of the ESL partnership may signal a significant transformation or restructuring within the ranks of this once-prominent esports entity.
