FURIA will not compete in the mixed VALORANT scene in 2027. The Brazilian organization announced its decision on Friday (October 30), after missing out on a place in the new VCT Americas partnership program. It has yet to confirm its plans for the Game Changers scene.

On October 19, FURIA confirmed it had not been selected for the VCT 2027 partnership program. At the time, the organization said it was evaluating whether to remain in competitive VALORANT. It has now confirmed that it will not field a mixed roster next season.

What Did FURIA Say About Its VALORANT Exit?

In its official statement, FURIA said the decision followed a review of its future in VALORANT. The organization thanked the players, staff, and fans who had been part of its journey, confirmed that its entire roster and coaching staff will become free agents on November 2, and promised an update on its plans for the inclusive scene.

Read FURIA's full statement below:

"After taking the time to reflect on the competitive landscape and what's next for FURIA, we've made the decision to step away from the mixed VALORANT competitive scene in 2027.

VALORANT has been our home. It's where we invested in talent, built something special, and created memories we'll carry with us forever. Through the wins, the losses, and everything we learned along the way, you were always there with us.

To every player, coach, staff member, and partner who has been part of this journey: thank you. Each of you has played a part in our story. All of our players and coaching staff will become free agents on November 2, and we wish nothing but the best in whatever comes next.

To our fans who cheered us on, stood by us, and believed in us every step of the way: we can't thank you enough.

This isn't goodbye. We'll continue to follow the scene closely, and the door will always be open.

As for our future in the inclusive VALORANT scene, we'll have more to share with you soon.

Thank you, VALORANT.
Thank you to our fans,
See you around.

FURIA."

Which Players Are Leaving FURIA?

Among the players already cleared to explore other opportunities are Arthur “artzin” Araujo, Luis Henrique “basic” Tessaro, and Fabian “Shyy” Usnayo. Head coach Ian “shaW” Jardim will also become a free agent on November 2.

Gianfranco “koalanoob” Potestio and Corbin “C0M” Lee had already been allowed to seek other teams before the announcement. The decision brings FURIA's mixed-roster run, which began in 2021, to an end. That run included appearances at VALORANT Champions in 2021 and 2022. In 2026, FURIA won VCT Americas Kickoff and competed at Masters Santiago.

FURIA's VALORANT History: From VCT Partnership to 2026 Comeback

FURIA entered competitive VALORANT in 2021 and qualified for Champions in both 2021 and 2022. The organization was then selected as one of the original VCT Americas partners when Riot Games launched the league in 2023. FURIA reached the playoffs and finished sixth in its first season, but failed to qualify for an international event that year.

The following seasons were more difficult. FURIA missed the playoffs in both VCT Americas stages in 2024. Things got worse in 2025, when the team failed to win a single group-stage match across both splits and suffered 12 consecutive defeats, the longest losing streak in the league's history at the time.

FURIA bounced back in 2026 after overhauling its roster. The team finished first at VCT Americas Kickoff, defeating MIBR 3-2 to secure the region's first berth at Masters Santiago. At the international tournament, FURIA finished tied for seventh.

Despite its strong start, FURIA could not maintain that form throughout the season. The team was eliminated in the first lower-bracket round of the playoffs in both VCT Americas splits and failed to qualify for Champions 2026. A few months later, it learned that it had not been selected for the league's next partnership cycle.

Is FURIA Leaving Game Changers Too?

FURIA has not announced the end of its Game Changers project. The organization said only that it would share more news about its future in the inclusive scene soon. FURIA entered Game Changers in August 2026 after moving its women's Counter-Strike 2 roster to VALORANT.

Toward the end of its statement, FURIA left the door open to following or potentially returning to the mixed scene in the future: “This isn't goodbye. We'll continue to follow the scene closely, and the door will always be open.” The organization did not say when it would announce its next steps.
