FURIA Reportedly Left Out of VCT Americas 2027 Partnership Program
FURIA has reportedly been left out of the VCT Americas partnership program for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. According to reports published on Monday (October 19), the Brazilian organization was not selected by Riot Games for the next competitive cycle of VALORANT, which will feature just eight partnered organizations per region.
The news was first reported by Sheep Esports, through Alejandro "Anonimotum" Gomis and his team, and independently corroborated by THESPIKE Brasil journalist Bruno Povoleri. At the time of writing, Riot Games had not publicly released the full list of selected organizations.
While FURIA has reportedly missed out, LOUD and MIBR are among the Brazilian organizations selected for the next cycle. LOUD, which won Champions 2026 on Sunday (October 18), has already confirmed that it will remain in the partnership program.
FURIA Allows artzin and basic to Explore Options After Partnership Reports
The reported partnership decision comes amid roster changes at FURIA. According to THESPIKE Brasil, FURIA has allowed Arthur "artzin" Araujo and Luis Henrique "basic" Tessaro to negotiate with other organizations.
The players were informed of the decision on Sunday night (October 18) and will become free agents on November 2, when the VCT transfer window opens.
Although both players were under contract through 2027, their agreements were tied to FURIA's participation in VCT Americas. With the changes to the competitive system and the organization's reported exclusion from the partnership program, those contracts are set to be terminated, according to the outlet.
The situation also involves Fabian "Shyy" Usnayo and head coach Ian "shaW" Jardim. THESPIKE Brasil reported that shaW was already expected to leave the organization regardless of the outcome of the selection process.
Before the partnership decision, FURIA had also given GianFranco "koalanoob" Potestio and Daniel "C0M" Lee permission to explore other opportunities.
FURIA's History in VCT Americas
FURIA has competed in VCT Americas since the league's inception in 2023 but has struggled to deliver consistent results. In its debut season, the team finished fifth in the regular season before losing in the opening round of the playoffs, ending the competition in the top six.
The following years proved even more difficult. In 2024, FURIA failed to reach the playoffs in either stage. The situation worsened in 2025, when the team finished last in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 without winning a single series during the group stages.
The organization bounced back in 2026, winning its first VCT Americas title with a 3-2 victory over MIBR in the Kickoff grand final. The result secured a spot at Masters Santiago, where FURIA finished among the top eight teams.
Despite that title, FURIA could not maintain its momentum throughout the season. The team finished both Stage 1 and Stage 2 in seventh-eighth place, completing its fourth consecutive VCT Americas season without qualifying for Champions.
What Happens to VCT Americas in 2027?
The VCT will undergo a major overhaul in 2027. Riot Games will reduce the number of partnered organizations from ten to eight per region, bringing the global total to 32. The new system will also replace the traditional league stages with a tournament circuit featuring open qualifiers.
Missing out on a partnership does not automatically prevent FURIA from competing in major VCT events in 2027. Under Riot Games' new format, non-partnered organizations will be able to enter open qualifiers and earn spots in Kickoff, regional Cups, and even international tournaments.
Partnered organizations will receive benefits including base payments, revenue sharing from in-game items, and direct entry into Kickoff. Non-partnered teams will need to qualify through open competition but can also earn prize money and financial incentives based on their results.
