On August 14th, Gleb "Funn1k" Lipatnikov tweeted about his life with B8 in the last seven months. Funn1k joined B8 (Dendi's Ukrainian organization) in December of 2022 when they moved to the NA DPC for the next season. A big reason for this move was the war in Ukraine, which Dendi believed was the best for the team and to help support his country. Funn1k mentioned that since Dendi helped him move during the war, he wanted to pay B8 back by playing for them for six months.

How Funn1k's suspicion started

While playing for B8, Funn1k posted political questions about the war in a Dota2 forum prodota.ru, which backfired on him. On the same day, he was asked by Dendi and the CEO of B8 to take down the post. Though it was a questionable reaction, he removed everything he posted.

Two days later, Funn1k was supposed to receive his DPC earning and salary but was told his recent actions scared investors. They had asked him to lay low for a while and stay away from online interactions.

Funn1k's Accusation of B8

With the reaction the offlaner received, he questioned whether B8, though a Ukrainian organization, was secretly being supported by Russian investors.

He also questioned if the poor performance by the team was due to them receiving money to lose games. Players StoneBankLodine, and Dendi gave fake excuses for playing poorly in pro games when compared to pubs.

The Community's reaction

Many fans do not believe in Funn1k's allegation because he has exaggerated similar issues previously. However, others are questioning B8's funding despite being inconsistent since its formation in 2020. The fact that there is no solid proof regarding this accusation has left many fans indecisive.

Apart from them not qualifying for any Tier-1 tournaments, B8 also formed a CS:GO squad in 2021. This has made many Dota fans' trust in the team decline.

Funn1k's relationship with Dendi

These two legendary players have been pals since the early NaVi days. Playing on the same team through three Internationals, they developed a strong friendship. Funn1k left NaVi in November 2015 and switched between many teams before joining Dendi again.

This time the situation changed which resulted in a falling out. Dendi has not responded to any of the allegations made by Funn1k. With The International qualfiers started B8 have got their hands full. Dendi is known for being the face of Dota2 for many years. It is difficult for many to see him in a negative spotlight.
