Evil Geniuses (EG) has reached verbal agreements with all five of their starting roster for the 2024 VCT Season. After a lengthy series of events that saw Evil Geniuses exit nearly every esports title that they had fielded a team in - including Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike – and news surfacing that their Champions-winning VALORANT roster was effectively stuck in contract jail until as recent as December 19th.

Source Valorant News was among the first to break that Evil Geniuses would continue to operate in VALORANT. Moreover, most speculations around this decision circled around the discussion that it was likely since Evil Geniuses is a partner in the VCT Americas circuit, their departure would not be as possible/favorable as in their other titles.

Note: While Evil Geniuses has elected to continue maintaining a presence in VALORANT, they have released their Game Changers roster following their Sao Paulo run. This leaves this roster as the sole roster of theirs remaining in a large esports title.

A Flood of Roster Moves for Evil Geniuses Alumni

Since the news broke on Evil Geniuses remaining within the scene, a flood of roster moves has begun - seeing 4 of the original 5 members of the roster moving on to other organizations.

Strafe Esports has covered all of the moves, including both Max “Demon1” Mazanov and Ethan “Ethan” Cole Arnold move on to NRG, Kelden “Boostio” Elric Pupello to 100 Thieves, and most recently Corbin “C0M” Daniel Lee to Leviatán.

This left Alexander “jawgemo” Mor as the sole remaining member of the roster still left under the Evil Geniuses banner, an organization he has been with since January 2022.

New Faces of Evil for 2024

In their stead, Evil Geniuses has recruited four new roster members to join retained talent jawgemo. Vincent “Apotheon” Le most recently played for Evil Geniuses as a reserve member, as part of the 10-man roster experiment EG attempted in 2023.

He will now be joining as a full time roster member should the signing go through. Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison most recently notably played for TSM and was part of their North American Challengers League (NACL) run that saw them finish 7th-8th place in the NACL Playoffs in 2023.

Moreover, NaturE was also briefly associated with 100 Thieves, however, lasted less than two weeks before being replaced with Boostio.

Phat “supamen” Le most recently played for FaZe Clan and was part of their NACL run, competing against the likes of NaturE in the same league.

Perhaps the second most recognizable name on this roster from recent times would be final member Derrek “Derrek” Ha, who most recently competed under the 100 Thieves banner during their 2023 run and was considered one of their most impactful and consistent talents.

Insider reporter Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis was among the first to break the news of this new roster.

Evil Geniuses 2024 VCT Starting Lineup:

At this time, the members aside from jawgemo have only reached verbal agreements and no signings have taken place yet. However, it is unlikely that this will not go true, and in all likelihood, they will be the 5 players to take the stage for Evil Geniuses when the Kick-Off tournament takes place in mid-February.
