North American organization Evil Geniuses (EG) has announced themselves to be parting ways with their Valorant Game Changers roster. This announcement comes days after the conclusion of the roster’s final tournament together, the VCT 2023 Game Changers Championship.

Disbanding as EG Crumbles

As the Evil Geniuses organization continues to crumble, more and more reports of their various teams being dropped one by one continues to surface. The Evil Geniuses Game Changers (GC) roster is only the latest casualty of this mass exodus from the Evil Geniuses brand.

Melisa “Theia” Mundorff, “StarBound”, “Scaryshark32”, “PowerPixele”, and Lorrian “Lorri” Elad all enter free agency with this disbanding. Coach Jovanni “Jovi” Vera has also joined her former team in free agency.

Strafe Esports has extensively covered the fall of the Evil Geniuses brand and their numerous esports teams. To summarize, this latest announcement joins the pile of EG teams that have been disbanded, including their Dota 2 division, League of Legends division in the LCS, Counter-Strike division, and the male Valorant division roster. Moreover, multiple EG staff members have also been let go, at all levels of management. (Reports for all of this can be read from the below links).

Not Much of Run, But It was a Run

Evil Geniuses Game Changers’ final run as a roster was at the 2023 Game Changers Championship. Days after winning the VCT 2023 Game Changers North America Series S3, defeating Version1 in the Grand Finals, EG announced that they would be benching “keenc” due to ‘inappropriate behaviour.’

This forced a last minute substitution that called “Nora” (name changed to Scaryshark32) to bat. EG went from winning 1st place in North America, to being the first team eliminated in the GC Championship.

After being dominated by SEA roster, Team SMG, in their opening series, they were 2-0d by Team Liquid, who went on to make the finals of the event in an incredible lower bracket run. EG ended their GC Championship run in 7th-8th place.
