On the final day of Week 1 of VCT Pacific, the world was stunned as Detonation FocusMe managed to beat T1 2-1. This triumph marks a significant milestone for the team, as it represents their first win in the VCT Pacific since joining the franchise in 2023.

This win also put an end to a losing streak that DFM were facing, having lost 20 consecutive games since April, 2021.

Detonation FocusMe 2-0 T1

The match kicked off on DFM’s pick of Ascent. Although DFM had a decent start, T1 showed off a strong defense. They won six rounds in a row and closed out the first half 7-5. However, DFM was not about to give up.

Showing off their own strong defense, the Japanese team had a six round win streak of their own to take the lead. T1 only managed to hold off for one more round, before DFM closed out the map 13-10.

T1 answered back on their pick of Lotus. Starting on defense once again, T1 were completely dominant, closing out the first half at 9-3. Although DFM tried to break the momentum by winning out the second pistol, T1 was not slowing down. They won the map at a dominant 13-5.

Finally, going to Sunset, it was a very fierce back and forth between both teams. With DFM on defense, the first half ended 6-6. However, T1’s own defensive side wasn’t up to the mark. They managed to pull off a few rounds in between. But in the end, it was DFM who won the map 13-11.

Looking Ahead

Detonation FocusMe's triumph over T1 not only signals their resurgence in the VCT Pacific but also foreshadows a potential shift in their competitive trajectory.

As they break free from the shackles of a daunting losing streak that plagued them since April of 2021, this victory undoubtedly injects newfound confidence and momentum into the team's dynamics.

Furthermore, the recent strategic bolstering of their coaching staff, with the signings of Moon "Astell" Ji-won as Head Coach and NorthernLights as a coach, highlights a deliberate effort towards enhancing their competitive edge.

With a revamped coaching structure and a monumental win under their belt, Detonation FocusMe appears poised to chart a more formidable course in the VCT Pacific, signaling an exciting chapter for the team and their fans alike.
