LOUD's erde Dedicates World Title to Late Mother: 'I Only Play for Her'
Roberto "erde" Lobos, the in-game leader for LOUD, dedicated his VALORANT world title to his mother, who died two days before the team's first match at Champions 2026. The 18-year-old Chilean became emotional as he spoke about the loss during an onstage interview following LOUD's victory on Sunday, October 18, in Shanghai, China.
Speaking after LOUD's 3-1 win over Team Vitality, erde said he had believed his mother's treatment was going well.
"I wanna dedicate this win to my mom. She died two days before the EDG game. I couldn't believe it because I thought she was going really well with her treatment. I dedicate this tournament for her. I only play for her. That's it."
erde was referring to LOUD's opening match against EDward Gaming on September 26. LOUD won that series 2-0 and went on to claim the world championship just over three weeks later.
erde Also Becomes the Youngest Champions MVP
Along with his first world title, erde was named MVP of Champions 2026. At 18, he broke the age record held by Erick "aspas" Santos, who was 19 when he earned the award with LOUD at Champions 2022, becoming the youngest MVP in Champions history.
With its victory over Vitality, LOUD also became the first organization to win VALORANT Champions twice, following up its 2022 triumph with an entirely different starting lineup.
