The Call of Duty (CoD) Black Ops 7 Season 4 update starts on June 4 and adds new multiplayer maps, fresh modes, Endgame changes, Zombies content, Warzone updates, and a new set of weapons and rewards across all playlists. Activision lists Season 4 as a combined update for core multiplayer, Endgame, Zombies, Warzone, and live service systems such as the Battle Pass, BlackCell, events, and store bundles.

Release Date and General Overview

Season 4 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 begins on June 4, with some items arriving later in a mid‑season “Season 04 Reloaded” drop. The update covers five fronts: standard multiplayer, Endgame, Zombies, Warzone, and shared progression systems across weapons, cosmetics, challenges, and passes.

Players can expect four new 6v6 maps across launch and mid‑season, several new and returning multiplayer modes, a new Endgame operation cycle, a new Survival map and Round‑Based content in Zombies, and Warzone changes focused on Fortune’s Keep, Verdansk‑scale modes, and Rebirth Island. Six weapons enter the game across the Battle Pass and seasonal challenges, backed by new attachments, events with cosmetic rewards, a fresh Battle Pass and BlackCell offering, and multiple themed bundles.

Multiplayer Maps in Season 4

At launch, Season 4 brings three multiplayer maps: Liminal, Primetime, and a remastered Vertigo. Mid‑season adds Zenith as a new map and Launch as a remaster.

  • Liminal is a small‑sized map that supports both 6v6 and 2v2, set inside a live Guild procedure where the patient’s mental state changes the center of the map in real time. When the subject is calm, a red pillar stands intact on a raised platform, but when agitation rises, the pillar breaks and drops into a crater that changes cover and sightlines around the impact zone. In a third state, the space shifts into a “nature” layout, with organic growth reclaiming the middle and altering lanes while corridors feed the core from both sides past elevators and offices.
  • Primetime is a medium‑sized 6v6 map based on a Japanese game show obstacle course, with fights across speed tracks, wall jumps, bounce pads, and oversized crates. The Pool track runs over water with catapults on each end for fast rotations to mid, while Backstage gives a close‑quarters option away from the lights and the southern Cargo path offers a more linear route along the course.
  • Vertigo returns as a medium‑sized 6v6 remaster of the map first seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, now with a new Japanese setting tied to the Guild. Combat takes place on a skyscraper rooftop with strong wind, steep drop‑offs along the outer perimeter near the vents, utility and storage sheds, and a helipad, while an inner walkway links the East and West Wing in a tighter lane.
  • Zenith, arriving mid‑season, is a medium‑sized 6v6 and 2v2 map set in a luxurious cliffside house with a waterfall in the background. Players can push through interior spaces filled with high‑tech equipment and artwork, check the Security room for intrusion details, or take a stealth route through water below and a secret Office entrance opened by a bookshelf trigger.
  • Launch, another mid‑season map, is a remaster of the original Black Ops location built around an industrial rocket facility. The layout covers the Fuel Yard, Loading, and Launch Pad areas, with stairwells that lead up to the blast shield and routes below the rocket thrusters that become dangerous when the rocket lifts off.

Multiplayer Modes and Ranked Play

Season 4 rotates several modes into the playlist for core multiplayer during launch and mid‑season. At launch, players can queue into Black Ops Classic, Blueprint Gun Game, and 6v6 Gunfight, which mixes the Gunfight format with standard team sizes. Later in the season, the rotation adds Team Blueprint Sharpshooter, where teams cycle through weapons, and Knife Fight, which strips out ranged weapons for up‑close combat.

A new scorestreak, Iron Rain, enters the game as a high‑altitude aircraft that the player controls from a bird’s‑eye view to drop munitions on targets. Players can upgrade Iron Rain using Overclocks like Active Camo and Tactical Radar, which change how the streak plays inside matches.

Ranked Play for Black Ops 7 multiplayer continues with a new season that introduces a fully transparent Skill Rating system. The post‑match summary shows exactly how many SR points players gain or lose and what factors shape the result, which clarifies progression through the ranked ladder.

Endgame Operations and Progression

Season 4 moves the Endgame storyline forward with two operations and new progression options. At the start of the season, Operation Wall Breaker focuses on The Guild striking back and adds the Command Killer Glitch Fracture threat, plus new challenges and rewards tied to this phase. Mid‑season introduces Operation King Killer, which continues the conflict in later weeks of the update.

Endgame gains Operator Prestige, which extends progression for players who reach max Combat Rating. With Operator Prestige active, players can unlock an extra Exotic slot, an extra Nightmare slot, and a fourth Skill Track for more build combinations inside Endgame runs.

A new Skill Track adds two abilities over the season. At launch, the Death Machine Major Ability joins as a heavy weapon option inside Endgame, and mid‑season the Guardian Skill Track unlocks the Psych Grenade Minor Ability, which applies control pressure by disrupting targets.

Zombies: Nuked, Rogue Run, and New Maps

Zombies in Season 4 receives a mix of Survival content, directed play, and a new Round‑Based map later in the season. Nuked is the new Survival map, set in a cul‑de‑sac filled with undead in a hellish version of the Paradox Junction future, where players push for high rounds and rewards with the resources available on the street.

Totenreich gets a Directed Mode for its main quest, which gives extra assistance while players move through the map’s core objective path. A Starting Room mode for Totenreich’s Eidskallen Landing lets players test how far they can go without leaving the initial area.

Rogue Run sends players back to Ashes of the Damned in a roguelite variant of Round‑Based Zombies. In Rogue Run, squads survive waves, pick rewards between rounds, then teleport to new arenas, with five different playlists and permanent in‑mode upgrades that unlock after players clear each playlist challenge.

Mid‑season, a new Round‑Based map called Kowakujō arrives, set in a feudal Japanese castle near an active volcano, which shifts the fight into a hotter region after the cold descent into Totenreich. Season 4 also introduces the Hellping Hound GobbleGum, which adds more combat support for Zombies runs.

Warzone: Fortune’s Keep, Clash, and Resurgence

For Warzone, Season 4 focuses on Fortune’s Keep, large‑scale modes, and a new season for Rebirth Island. A Fortune’s Keep Refresh expands the Resurgence map pool, updating the layout to support Black Ops 7 movement and mechanics and adding several new micro points of interest.

A 52v52 Clash mode brings large‑team combat on Verdansk at launch, which gives players a way to test weapons and movement in a less elimination‑focused format. During the mid‑season window, Squad Gun Game enters the rotation, where squads race through weapons in a shared pool.

Rebirth Island moves into a new season with snow removed, warmer weather, and a fresh visual state for the map. New gameplay features include the Shadowlink Contract on Fortune’s Keep, which functions as a mobile Black Market, the Advanced Self Revive item that helps players get back to cover more safely, and a late‑season Champion’s Quest for squads that meet strict win conditions.

Warzone Resurgence Ranked Play also receives a new season with fresh rewards, including unique weapon camos tied to performance in ranked matches. These camos sit alongside the other cosmetic rewards in the broader seasonal system.

New Weapons, Attachments, and Loadout Items

Across all modes, Season 4 adds six weapons through the Battle Pass, events, and weekly challenges. At launch, the KRS‑7.62 Marksman Rifle and CBRS‑3 SMG sit inside the Battle Pass as the headline guns. Over the season, the Grimhawk Special, VX Compact Assault Rifle, Executioner’s Duet melee weapon, and AN‑94 Assault Rifle unlock through events and weekly challenges.

New attachments expand weapon building in several categories. Named examples include the M10 Breacher Argus Lever, the XR‑3 Ion Vulcan Minigun, the DS20 Mirage Dual Fire Kit, and the Velox 5.7 Carbine Chassis, alongside other Season 4 parts.

The Iron Rain scorestreak and its Overclocks sit inside the shared content pool and feed into both multiplayer and broader loadout planning. Loadout progression also ties into Weekly Challenges, which can unlock new items, attachments, camo rewards, and XP over the course of the season.

Battle Pass, BlackCell, Challenges, and Store Bundles

Season 4 ships with a new Battle Pass that includes weapon blueprints, operator skins, calling cards, finishing moves, emotes, and other cosmetic items across free and premium tiers. BlackCell returns as a premium option on top of the pass and includes the “Catalyst” operator and a Mastercraft weapon blueprint, with additional variants for these items tied to in‑game challenges.

Events and Weekly Challenges grant classic throwback weapon camos, extra weapons and blueprints, the Iron Rain scorestreak, and other items across general challenge tracks. According to Activision’s summary, more than 50 weapon camos are available across Season 04 through these weekly objectives.

The in‑game store receives new bundles during Season 4, with Ultra skins, reactive content, and Mastercraft weapon blueprints that match the seasonal theme. One highlighted bundle is the Tracer Pack: Panzersoldat, which includes the “Cardiac Arrest” Mastercraft blueprint for the KRS‑7.62 Marksman Rifle.
