We are finally back to BLAST Slam IV playoffs after a couple of weeks, and it’s time to check who made it past the Play-In. At the same time, we’ll also take a look at the playoff matchups, which will begin on November 7th at 07:00 (GMT).

The Playoffs will follow a single-elimination bracket with six qualified teams. Four teams advanced to the Quarterfinals through the Play-In, while Team Falcons and Tundra Esports went straight into the Semifinals after finishing first and second in the Group Stage.

Last Chance Playoffs and Play-In Results

The first elimination round was the Last Chance Playoffs. In the opening match, Team Liquid eliminated the Yakult Brothers with a 2-1 victory. In the second and final LCP match, BetBoom Team took down Execration, the regional representative by invitation.

Shortly after, the Play-In stage began with MOUZ sweeping Team Aureus 2-0. This result eliminated Southeast Asia from the tournament before the playoffs. The second match was an Eastern European duel, where Aurora Gaming defeated Natus Vincere by 2-1.

In the third Play-In match, Heroic took advantage of the (still) unstable Team Liquid and secured a clean 2-0 win. Closing out the stage, Team Spirit faced BetBoom Team in another Eastern European showdown, coming out on top with a 2-1 score.

BLAST Slam IV: Playoffs Schedule

Now we return to the present, where the six remaining teams will battle for the biggest share of the prize pool. The playoffs will take place between November 7th and November 9th. Check out the schedule for the quarterfinals below:

  • 07:00 GMT — MOUZ vs. Team Spirit
  • 10:30 GMT — Aurora Gaming vs. Heroic

The day begins with MOUZ facing Team Spirit, a matchup that will once again test both teams’ recent progress. Both were eliminated in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals of FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 and now meet in the BLAST Slam IV Quarterfinals.

While this marks clear improvement for MOUZ, Team Spirit carries higher expectations. A victory for Spirit is anticipated, but if MOUZ manages to take it, it will be a testament to their hard work and growth.

Closing out the first day, Aurora Gaming will face Heroic for the chance to meet Team Falcons in the Semifinals. Considering the results from FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, both teams appear evenly matched and just below Spirit and MOUZ in form. Heroic may have a slight edge, having advanced past the Group Stage in FP2.

Whoever wins the first Quarterfinal will face Tundra Esports in the Semifinals, while the second matchup winner will go up against Team Falcons. As this is a single-elimination bracket, any team that loses is immediately eliminated with no second chance to recover.

Closing Thoughts

BLAST Slam IV is returning soon, and we’ll have the Playoff Results just three days later. Team Falcons and Tundra Esports have a small advantage by starting in the Semifinals, but all teams are well-rested after competing in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 in the meantime.

If Team Falcons win again, they’ll further solidify their position as season favorites. This has happened before, but they fell short at the EWC and The International during what was otherwise their most dominant year. Now, with an Aegis already under their belt, they could set the stage to become another two-time champion roster.
