Dota 2 patch 7.39d will be the gameplay patch for The International in September. As they patch will likely last for quite some time, we figured it would be a good time to list the best heroes for each role.

In this article, we are counting down the three best offlaners for you to grind MMR. These heroes are easy to use, but highly effective in the right hands.

Three best Offlaners To climb MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.39d

Abaddon

Starting our list is Abaddon. One of the easiest to play heroes while also being a terror in the lane.

Abaddon is in a good spot because he repackaged his old shield facet into an Aghanim's Shard, which he can skip as a core, but will enjoy getting from Tormentors. The Quickening gives him a free shield each time a hero dies, while significantly improving his item usage.

In the laning stage, Abaddon can run down enemy heroes with a level in Curse. Some players like to get an early Orb of Corrosion to further shut down enemies in the laning stage.

The big timing for the hero is when he gets Radiance. An unkillable carry who burns down all enemies in incredibly strong. Players can opt for Manta Style, Sange and Yasha, and Harpoon after that.

Abaddon is a strong laner, with a powerful early spike and reliable late game potential. His 53%+ win rate in all brackets is a testament to how viable he is at all levels of play.

Wraith King

Continuing our theme of melee heroes who buy Radiance is Wraith King. While not as aggressive in lane as Abaddon, he does bring significantly more burst-damage late game.

In the lane, one point in Wraith Fire blast is picked up to harass enemies and secure denies. Sometimes it can help get kills, but Wraith King isn't a very aggressive laner.

Players often take and max Bone Guard by level seven. It speeds up the hero's farm tremendously and allows him that fast Radiance. After that it's worth maxing Mortal Strike to bring down enemies as fast as possible.

Wraith King isn't very fast, so a Blink Dagger is mandatory after Radiance. We highly recommend a Black King Bar and Assault Cuirass to negate most damage received. Aghanim's Scepter is a good way to keep allies useful after death.

Wraith King is a simple (and kinda boring) hero to use without much variety in skill or item build. He is also incredibly durable and brings a ton of burst damage. Overall, his 54% win rate in lower pubs is well-deserved and makes him one of the best offlaners to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.39d.

Legion Commander

Tresdin has a positive win rate across all brackets, but she shines in the 3-4k MMR range. An offlaner who can lock down her targets, while also saving cores is an incredible pick for grinding MMR.

Legion Commander is a solid laner. While not the best at securing kills, she herself is very hard to bring down. She can lifesteal when attacked, and also heal and remove debuffs from herself. Generally, it's best to focus on farming in the first 10 minutes when playing Tresdin.

Once the laning stage concludes, Legion Commander becomes a feast-or-famine hero. With a Blade Mail and Duel, she can often bring down any enemy on the map, particularly strong right clickers. Players can opt to skip Blade Mail and go straight for Blink Dagger if they lack catch, but that also leads to riskier Duels.

LC's item build tends to be quite simple, focusing on mobility and improving her duels. Aghanim's upgrades are both useful to ensure she gets her Duels off without a hitch.

Fast, strong, and with infinite scaling, Tresdin is one of the best offlaners to use when grinding MMR due to her ability to solo carry games.
