Dota 2 patch 7.34b has been out for a while and we've ranked the biggest winners and losers of the update. While it's good to know which heroes are on the rise and which aren't doing so well, it's equally important to know the best picks for each role, in this case, the best hard supports to grind MMR with.

In this article, we will be looking at the best hard supports in patch 7.34b, as well as talk about why these heroes are worth playing and some essential tips to avoid growing pains.

The three best hard supports to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.34b

Elder Titan

If you're looking for a lane-dominating hard support who can scale well into the late game, then Elder Titan might be the perfect fit.

At the laning stage, Elder Titan is...well, a titan!. With decent starting health and armor, along with 310 movement speed, Elder Titan can get up close and personal with his enemies and deal significant damage when backed by an Astral Spirit and Natural Order.

It's best to max out Echo Stomp by level seven or eight, in order to maximize the hero's impact in team fights. The spell does decent damage but its real selling point is how hard it is for enemies to avoid Echo Stomp and the long sleep duration that comes with it.

Earth Splitter is an amazing ultimate that deals percentage-based damage, making it useful at all stages of the game. Earth Splitter pierces magic immunity, so there is no counterplay option against it. The spell combos well with big AOE disables such as Chronosphere and Black Hole. In a pinch, Elder Titan can set up the spell himself with Echo Stomp.

Elder Titan is one of the most flexible hard supports in Dota 2 when it comes to his item build. He can buy the standard utility and aura items if needed but he can also opt for a little more right-click damage, with a couple of Bracers and an early Phase Boots. Both Aghanim upgrades are worth getting, so be sure to put them on the shopping list at some point.

With a strong laning phase, overwhelming teamfight, great scaling ability, and a versatile item build, Elder Titan is one of the best hard supports to grind MMR if you're an aggressive player who likes to dish out some damage at all stages of the game.

Undying

While he's not the best scaling hard support, Undying more than makes up for it by being arguably the strongest hero in Dota 2 in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Spamming Decay is all the hero needs to do to win the laning stage. The spell drains 88 health from enemies and gives it to Undying, instantly creating a 176 health advantage when trading hits. Getting a few multi-hero Decays in the laning stage is enough to completely shut down enemies.

Undying's most iconic spell is Tombstone, which creates an army of zombies to slow down enemies and bring them down. Tombstone zombies spawn fairly quickly at higher levels, forcing enemies to either waste time bringing it down or trying (and often failing) to run away. Be sure to position Tombstone on high ground to ensure enemies struggle to bring it down.

Flesh Golem helps Undying tank up but the spell has a lot more going for it than simply increasing the hero's strength. Flesh Golem provides significant bonus movement speed, and enemies hit during Golem form are slowed by 40% at level one and take 35% extra damage at max level. The debuff lasts for six seconds, making it easy to apply the debuff to several enemies in a teamfight.

Similar to Elder Titan, Undying has a flexible item build. The hero can go for utility options such as Pavise and Glimmer Cape, or for a more aura-oriented build featuring Guardian Greaves and Pipe of Insight. The new Aghanim's Shard gives the hero a fantastic save option but it is risky, as a broken Tombstone stuns saved allies now.

Undying is a hero with a versatile playstyle, powerful early-game presence, and one of the best saves in the game, well worth mastering for any hard support player.

Oracle

If you're into saving allies and keeping them healthy, then Oracle is the best hard support at sustaining his friends.

During the early game, Oracle deals a surprising amount of burst damage courtesy of Purifying Flames and Fortune's end. Combine that with some ranged harass and you have a solid laning partner for any carry. Just be sure to remove Purifying Flame's healing with Fortune's end.

All of Oracle's spells can be used offensively and defensively. Purifying Flames can heal allies and damage enemies, while Fate's Edict prevents enemies from dealing physical damage and allies from taking magic damage. Fortune's end dispells both enemies and allies, removing positive buffs from the former, and negative buffs from the latter.

So in summary, Oracle requires a lot of concentration and practice to reach his full potential, but players who do so are richly rewarded.

Oracle is a versatile spell caster with one of the best saving spells in the game, False Promise. Being able to keep your carry alive for an additional 10 seconds is enough to win any team fight late game. And Oracle doesn't need to buy anything to be effective, as he is one of the most item-independent heroes in the game.

If there's one item players should get for Oracle, it's Aghanim's Shard. Rain of Destiny deals 40 damage to enemies and heals allies by 40 health a second, while also amplifying allies healing by 20% and reducing enemies' healing by 20%. It's an absurdly powerful Shard and if it doesn't drop from the first Tormentor, it's worth buying.

Oracle is a complex hero but if you like a versatile ranged spell caster who can turn the tides of battle with one well-timed ultimate, then Oracle is one of the best hard supports to grind MMR for you.
