About this event

VCS Summer 2026

Overview

VCS Summer 2026, officially known as ON Live VCS 2026 Summer, is the Summer split of the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS), the premier professional League of Legends esports league in Vietnam. Organized by Riot Games in partnership with VIRESA (Vietnam Recreational and Electronic Sports Association) and VNG Games, it operates as an A-tier regional tournament within the newly formed League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) following the 2025 merger of VCS with PCS, LJL, and LCO. The event runs entirely online from Vietnam with a prize pool of 250,000,000₫ VND (approximately $9,497 USD).

History

The VCS originated as Vietnam's top League of Legends circuit and entered a new era in 2025 as a Tier 2 league under the LCP structure. VCS Summer 2026 marks the second split of the 2026 season and the second year of VCS participation in the Vietnamese National Esports Championship System (VEC) organized by VIRESA. The 2026 edition introduced an expanded regional integration while retaining its status as Vietnam's flagship LoL competition, with official recognition from the Vietnam Olympic Committee and Sports Authority of Vietnam.

Format

The tournament features six teams and consists of a regular season followed by playoffs. The regular season (May 13–28, 2026) is a single round-robin where each team plays every other team once, with all matches played in a best-of-three format under fearless draft rules. The top four teams advance to the playoffs (June 11–20, 2026), which use a double-elimination bracket with all matches in best-of-five format. The winner qualifies for the VCS 2026 Finals.

Notable Editions

As the inaugural LCP-era Summer split, VCS Summer 2026 represents a significant evolution for Vietnamese esports by aligning with broader Asia-Pacific competition. The season's emphasis on national recognition through the VEC and its integration into the LCP framework highlight its growing role in developing talent for international play.

Past Champions

VCS Summer 2026 remains ongoing as of May 15, 2026, with the regular season having just begun on May 13. No champion has been determined. The winner will advance to the VCS 2026 Finals alongside the Spring champion.

Viewership & Impact

The tournament is broadcast primarily on the official VCS YouTube channel (@vcslmht) with additional coverage on TikTok (@vcslmht) and partner channels including 9Gaming Esports, SN CyberCore, SCTV, and individual streamers. No specific peak or average viewership figures have been released for the 2026 Summer split. As part of Vietnam's national esports framework, VCS Summer 2026 contributes to the cultural and competitive development of League of Legends in the country, supporting player pathways into the LCP and international events.
