Overview
The League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) is the premier professional esports league for League of Legends in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. It serves as one of the five major tier-1 regional leagues in the global LoL esports ecosystem, alongside the LCK (Korea), LPL (China), LEC (Europe), and LTA/LCS (Americas). The league is organized by Riot Games in partnership with Carry International (鍇睿國際), with operations centered at the dedicated LCP Arena in Taipei, Taiwan.
The LCP features a hybrid franchise-promotion/relegation model with eight teams: three permanent partner teams and five guest teams eligible for relegation to sub-regional leagues such as the Pacific Championship Series (PCS), Vietnam Championship Series (VCS), and League of Legends Japan League (LJL). All matches are played offline at the LCP Arena.
History
The LCP was officially announced on 29 September 2024 as part of Riot Games’ broader 2025 esports restructuring, which consolidated fragmented APAC competition into a single top-tier league. It replaced the Pacific Championship Series (PCS, which had previously incorporated Southeast Asia, Taiwan/HK/Macau, and later Oceania and Japan elements) and elevated Vietnam’s VCS status while integrating the LJL. Carry International partnered with Riot to handle day-to-day operations.
The league launched its inaugural 2025 season with a Season Kickoff, Mid-Season split, and Season Finals. The 2026 season introduced a standardized three-split structure (Split 1, Split 2, Split 3) with distinct qualification paths to international events. Split 2 2026 ran from 4 April to 7 June 2026.
Format
LCP 2026 Split 2 followed the standard split format used in 2026:
- Regular Season: Eight teams compete in a single round-robin group stage. All matches are best-of-three (Bo3).
- Playoffs: The top six teams advance to a hybrid double-elimination bracket. Matches are best-of-five (Bo5). The bracket begins with single-elimination matches for seeds 3–6, feeding into a double-elimination stage with the top two seeds receiving byes.
The Split 2 champion qualifies as the LCP’s first seed for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI). A second LCP team qualifies for MSI based on championship points. The event is held entirely offline at the LCP Arena in Taipei, Taiwan.
The total prize pool for Split 2 was $80,000 USD.

Split 2 2026 stood out as the second split of the league’s second year, showcasing the continued rise of guest teams and competitive parity. Team Secret Whales’ dominant performance and 3-1 grand final victory over Deep Cross Gaming highlighted the league’s growing depth, with multiple organizations from Taiwan, Vietnam, and Japan contending for international qualification spots. The split’s conclusion on 7 June directly fed into MSI qualification, underscoring its importance in the global calendar.
