The second Global VALORANT event of the year is just around the corner. VCT Masters Shanghai 2024 will kick off on the 23rd May.

12 teams from VCT Americas, VCT EMEA, VCT Pacific and VCT China will take on one another to crown the second international VALORANT champion of 2024 at the Mercedes Benz Arena.

Let’s go over the tournament details.

VCT Masters Shanghai: Format and Schedule

The tournament will be divided into two stages: the Swiss Stage featuring 8 teams, followed by an 8-team Playoff Bracket. You can check all the qualified teams here.

The winners (1st seed) of each International Leagues' Split 1 have received a bye from Swiss, and are directly seeded into the Playoffs.

The remaining 8 teams will play the Swiss Stage featuring best-of-three games. The teams have to secure two wins before losing twice to qualify for the Playoffs.

During the first stage, teams with the same W-L record will play each other until 4 teams secure Playoffs.

The draw for the Swiss Stage followed the VCT Americas Split 1 Grand Finals, deciding the fixtures for Round 1. You can check the fixtures and our predictions for it here. The fixtures for Round 2 will be drawn following the conclusion of Round 1.

For the Playoff opening game, the top seeds will be given a chance to select their opening round opponents based on a draw.

The Playoffs will feature best-of-three games except the Lower Finals and Grand Finals which will be best-of-five.

The Mercedes Benz Arena will host the finals weekend featuring Upper Final, Lower Finals and Grand Finals.

Team Heretics were previously scheduled to play on Day 1, but due to travelling issue, their game is postponed to day 2. Check the complete statement here
