The Best 3 Carries Of Dota 2 Patch 7.41

Patch 7.41 has shaken things up in Dota 2 during the ESL One Birmingham, and a new meta is shaping up in real time throughout the tournament. At the same time, thousands of pub matches have already taken place, and the data gives us some strong options to consider.

We will take a look at the best-performing carry heroes and see how they have changed after the new patch. This is a snapshot of the current state of the metagame, and things might change in the near future, so make sure to take advantage of them as soon as possible.

Lifestealer

Lifestealer is the biggest winner of the carry role so far.

The star of the biggest winners

As we have already mentioned in our article on the biggest winners of the patch, Lifestealer seems to be on IceFrog’s good side. Naix received a number of buffs that brought him closer to his original mechanics and resulted in the biggest increase in win rate since the patch dropped.

The stacking attack speed and movement speed buffs across all of his abilities made him much stronger, and having a built-in BKB, combined with the regained ability to control Ancients, brought the hero back from obscurity into the metagame in record time.

Lifestealer got a string of nerfs on the balancing patch (7.41a) due to his fast rise to the position of go-to carry after the update. Considering that it's still too early to say how much this affects the hero, he's still sitting above 55% win rate in the last week.

Bloodseeker

One amazing change is almost as good as a stack of small changes

Apparently, blood is a theme in Patch 7.41, as Bloodseeker is the second carry whose results have seen a significant spike. The hero was not particularly popular or weak before, but one change to his Aghanim’s Fragment altered everything.

His new Fragment makes every attack deal 1.5% of the target’s maximum health as pure damage. This addition to an agility core is a game-changer that has propelled Strygwyr to the top tier of cores in the early days of this patch.

Bloodseeker is a good alternative to Lifestealer for those who enjoy playing agility carries. He is much better at trading than before due to the additional damage, but got a small nerf in the balancing patch, which means that devs also believe he was very strong.

Wraith King

Wraith King got a lot of his facet abilities added to his skillset

Finally, Wraith King takes back his throne as a new and improved version of himself. Most, if not all, of his Facet abilities have been added to his skill set. His Bone Guard is now a basic ability that you can get as early as level 1.

His Spectral Blade is now his Aghanim’s Shard upgrade, added on top of Mortal Strike. Critical strikes curse the target and deal 75% of the damage again after a 3-second delay.

This ability activates his Vampiric Aura, but the curse does not stack. This means the curse will only trigger based on the damage of the attack that applied it and will not trigger additional instances until the previous one has dealt its damage.
