Shopify Rebellion Gold Wins Game Changers NA Stage 2 and Qualifies for 2026 Championship

Shopify Rebellion Gold secured its return to the VALORANT Game Changers Championship by beating FlyQuest RED 3-1 in the 2026 Game Changers North America Stage 2 Grand Final on September 17.

The title completed a Stage 2 campaign in which SRG dropped only one series from the start of the Swiss stage through the end of the playoffs. It was also the organization's first North American Game Changers trophy of 2026 after finishing second to SwimTrek Blue in Stage 1.

The championship match also marked a first for the regional circuit. Shopify Rebellion Gold and FlyQuest RED contested the first Game Changers North America Stage final played on LAN, with Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles hosting the series.

The result earned SRG a direct spot at the 2026 Game Changers Championship in São Paulo, Brazil. FlyQuest RED, meanwhile, collected eight circuit points and remains in contention for qualification through the Last Chance Qualifier.

Shopify Rebellion Gold Recovers From Its Only Swiss Stage Loss

SRG began its Stage 2 run on July 13 and quickly moved to 2-0 in the Swiss stage. The team swept Revitalize GC in its opening series before adding another 2-0 victory against SEN Otters the following week.

Its first setback came against Stage 1 champion SwimTrek Blue on July 27. SRG lost the series 2-0, a result that would remain its only defeat for the rest of the tournament.

Shopify answered with a sweep of ORA Temper before facing Axolotl in its final Swiss-stage series. With the matchup tied after two maps, SRG won Lotus 13-6 to take the series 2-1 and complete the stage with a 4-1 record.

That was enough to move Shopify Rebellion Gold into the eight-team playoff bracket, where the team would not lose another series.

SRG Runs Through the Upper Bracket

Shopify Rebellion Gold started the playoffs against HIMMERS on September 1. A 13-2 win on Sunset put SRG in control immediately, and a 13-9 victory on Split completed the 2-0 series.

The upper semifinal produced a rematch with SwimTrek Blue. Beyond being the only team to beat SRG during the Swiss stage, SwimTrek had also defeated Shopify 3-1 in the Stage 1 Grand Final earlier in the season.

This time, the series went decisively in Shopify's favor. SRG took Lotus 13-5 and Ascent 13-2 to record a 2-0 sweep, eliminating the team responsible for both of its previous losses in the competition that year.

FlyQuest RED stood between Shopify and a place in the Grand Final. SRG opened the upper final with a 13-2 defeat on Abyss, but the series changed direction from there. Shopify edged Haven 13-11 to tie the matchup and then dominated Ascent 13-4, completing a 2-1 comeback.

The win sent SRG directly to the Los Angeles final without a trip through the lower bracket. FlyQuest RED later earned a second meeting with Shopify by defeating The Spiders 3-0 in the lower final.

Last-Minute Roster Change Before the Grand Final

SRG entered the title match with an unexpected roster change after Nicole "Noia" Tierce had to leave the team and return home following her father's admission to the ICU.

To fill the open spot, Shopify brought former player Sarah "sarah" Simpson back as an emergency substitute. Her return came only months after she had stepped away from competition, leaving the roster with little time to adjust its roles and setups before the Grand Final.

The circumstances added another challenge ahead of the first Game Changers NA Stage final to be held in a LAN environment.

Shopify Rebellion Gold Completes the Comeback Against FlyQuest RED

FlyQuest RED made the stronger start in the Grand Final, taking Haven 13-3 and putting Shopify behind after the opening map.

SRG recovered in two tight games, winning Sunset 13-11 and Split 13-10 to turn the series around and move ahead 2-1.

FlyQuest then came close to extending the best-of-five on Lotus. FLY reached a 12-9 advantage and stood one round away from forcing Ascent, but Shopify erased the deficit and pushed the map into overtime. SRG eventually prevailed 17-15, closing the series 3-1 and securing the Stage 2 championship.

After the win, Lucien "vanitas" Campione reflected on the work that had gone into the run.

Shopify Rebellion Gold Returns to the Game Changers Championship

Winning Stage 2 puts Shopify Rebellion Gold back on the international Game Changers stage, where the organization has reached the Grand Final in each of the past three editions.

Shopify Rebellion won the Game Changers Championship in both 2023 and 2024, becoming the first organization to claim consecutive global titles in the circuit. Its bid for a third straight championship ended in 2025, when Team Liquid won the final 3-2.

The 2026 edition will take SRG back to São Paulo, the city where the organization captured its first world championship. The tournament will run from October 22 to November 1 at Riot Games Arena São Paulo and will bring together 10 teams from the global Game Changers circuit.

SRG reaches the event after a Stage 2 run of seven series wins and one loss. Along the way, Shopify avenged defeats to SwimTrek Blue, stayed in the upper bracket throughout the playoffs, and beat FlyQuest RED twice. The second of those victories delivered the team's first regional title of 2026 and secured its place at the season-ending championship.
