VALORANT Champions 2024 Group stage enters its final stretch, as starting today, the remaining eight teams will play in qualification-elimination games. Only four teams survive the intense competition of the last two days.

From Group B, dubbed the Group of Death, Team Heretics managed to secure the top seed. For the final spot of the group, Gen.G took on Sentinels for the second time this tournament.  With the stakes sky high, the two former champions clashed, with only one surviving the day.

Gen.G 0-2 Sentinels

The battle of champions kicked off on Lotus, as chosen by Sentinels. They started their map pick strong, going 6-2 up, and closed the map 13-9 after a strong defense performance.

Icebox started similarly, where Sentinels secured an early lead on defense, Gen.G salvaged the half, but Sentinels closed the series, after dominating the second half. They won the map 13-6, closing the series 2-0.

Talking about the Icebox loss, Munchkin explained:

“Sentinels had their retakes well-prepared on our attacker side. Even though we had opportunities, we couldn't deal with their retakes, and I think that's what cost us the map.”

The loss concludes the season for one of the best teams of 2024, the Shanghai Champions and the Pacific #1.

Commenting on the year they had, Meteor says:

“I feel like we played so many games. We had so many reps this season and although our champions run ends here, we were able to produce some good results but champions 2024 it's not the last tournament in the world. We're gonna have next year as well.

And although we did crumble and our champions journey end here, I would like to thank our fans because we wouldn't be, we wouldn't have been having a lot of success without your support.”

With the win, Sentinels silence the doubters, qualifying for VALORANT Champions 2024 over the tournament favorites Gen.G.

Talking about the win, Zellsis says:

“Everyone voted for us to be overrated, but look at us now. We’ve taken down your favorites. There’s no gap between the teams; it’s tough, and anything can happen.”

Sentinels now await for the Playoffs draw tomorrow. In the follow-up series, Fnatic took on KRU Esports for a Playoff spot.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
