Sentinels Confirm JonahP and Jerrwin Departures Ahead of VCT 2027
Sentinels have confirmed the departures of Jonah “JonahP” Pulice and Gurjiwan “Jerrwin” Gill from their VALORANT roster. The organization announced the two exits in separate posts on Friday, October 30, following a season in which the team failed to qualify for any Masters event or VALORANT Champions.
Both players joined Sentinels in March 2026 and are leaving less than eight months later. According to CEO Rob Moore, the organization is already working on replacements ahead of VCT Americas 2027.
When Did JonahP and Jerrwin Join Sentinels?
JonahP was announced on March 6, 2026, after his stint with G2 Esports. The Canadian previously won VCT Americas Ascension 2023 with The Guard, whose roster later moved to G2. At Sentinels, he played several roles, including initiator.
In its farewell post, Sentinels reflected on JonahP's journey from opponent to teammate and praised his experience and contributions to the team.
Jerrwin joined on March 24, 2026, after competing in the North American Challengers scene for teams including Trust In Plug and SaD Esports. The Canadian stepped into the duelist role for his first stint in the region's top-tier circuit.
In its announcement, Sentinels thanked Jerrwin for taking on the responsibility of the role without shying away from the challenge. He had already been given permission to explore opportunities with other teams in September.
How Did Sentinels Perform in 2026?
The roster changes made in March did not produce the results Sentinels had hoped for. The team finished the VCT Americas Stage 1 group stage with two wins and three losses, missing the playoffs. Sentinels posted another 2-3 record in Stage 2 and were forced into the Play-In.
In the battle for the remaining playoff spots, Sentinels lost 2-0 to ENVY, defeated Brazilian side 2Game Esports by the same score, and were then eliminated following another 2-0 loss, this time to KRÜ Esports. The team ended the year without appearing at a Masters event or Champions.
Who Could Replace JonahP and Jerrwin on Sentinels?
In a post on X, Rob Moore said both players had been informed on September 15 that they would become unrestricted free agents. The CEO said they had worked hard, but the team had not achieved the level of success it had hoped for. He also said Sentinels had identified replacements he considered “S-tier”, although the new players cannot be announced before November 2.
One potential signing is Francis “OXY” Hoang. According to an October 24 report from Sheep Esports, the Cloud9 player is expected to take over as Sentinels' duelist in 2027. The move has not been officially confirmed.
With JonahP and Jerrwin gone, the three remaining players are Mohamed Amine “johnqt” Ouarid, Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm, and Brazilian player Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez. Sentinels have been selected by Riot Games to remain a VCT Americas partner for 2027 and 2028, but the organization has yet to reveal its full lineup for next season.
