Sentinels star and VALORANT Champions winner Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi will not be re-signing with Sentinels for the 2025 season, according to a report by Brazilian journalist Bruno Povoleri.

After nearly two years with the North American organization, Sacy will be exploring new opportunities as a free agent. Thus possibly marking the end of an era for both the player and the team.

Sacy's contract with Sentinels, which runs until the end of this year, has not been renewed, leaving many fans and analysts speculating about the reasons behind this decision. However, the report did not specify whether the decision was made by Sentinels, Sacy, or mutually agreed upon.

The Journey with Sentinels

Sacy joined Sentinels in October 2022, coming from Brazilian powerhouse LOUD, where he had already established himself as one of the top players in the VALORANT scene. His arrival was met with high expectations, as Sentinels were looking to bounce back from a challenging 2022 season. However, the team's 2023 season fell short of expectations, leading to several roster changes in the following year.

Despite the rocky start, Sentinels managed to find their form in the 2023-24 season. With Sacy playing a crucial role, the team clawed their way back to the top of competitive VALORANT. The highlight of their resurgence came in early 2024 when Sentinels secured the VCT Americas Kickoff title. And then went on to win their second ever international title at VCT Masters Madrid—an achievement that solidified Sacy's place among the elite players who have won two international titles.

However, the later part of the year was not as favorable to the team. With unsatisfactory finishes at VCT Americas League Stage 1 and 2, and failure to qualify for VCT Masters Shanghai, Sentinels ended their season with a decent 4th place finish at VALORANT Champions 2024.

The Future Awaits

As the end of 2024 approaches, Sacy has already reportedly returned to Brazil. Interestingly, he will be attending the Grand Finals of the second split of the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL) 2024 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, this Saturday. His presence at the event has sparked further speculation about his future. With some wondering if his next move might involve a return to another Brazilian, or even a South American team.

What is clear, however, is that should Sacy's departure from Sentinels come to pass, it will leave a significant void in the team. His contributions to Sentinels' success were invaluable, and finding a replacement of his caliber will be no easy task for the North American organization.

As a free agent in 2025, Sacy will have the freedom to choose his next destination. And there will undoubtedly be no shortage of teams interested in acquiring his talents. His track record, combined with his recent successes, makes him one of the most sought-after players in the market. Whether he decides to stay in North America, return to Brazil, or explore opportunities in other regions, Sacy's next move will be closely watched.
