Rex Regum Qeon has announced the addition of Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha to their roster. This move follows the recent benching of Saibani "fl1pzjder" Rahmad after the team failed to qualify for the Stage 1 playoffs.

Monyet, who was recently placed on Paper Rex's inactive roster following Wang "Jinggg" Jie's return, will now join RRQ.

Reuniting and Role Replacements

Monyet's signing brings him back together with Hagai "Lmemore" Tewuh and coach Ewok. The trio previously played together under the ONIC Esports banner in 2022, managing to reach the 2022 VCT APAC LCQ grand final, where they eventually fell to BOOM Esports.

Monyet, whose claim to fame is his skill as a controller, offers a different dynamic compared to Estrella, who previously played as an initiator for Dplus. Also bolstered by Monyet's experience at Paper Rex, arguably the best team in the Pacific Region, RRQ is optimistic about revitalizing their season.

Although they didn't qualify for either Masters event, their positive record in Stage 1 (3-2), including an unbelievable upset against Gen.G, means they are tied with Team Secret in sixth place in terms of championship points.

RRQ has quite the mountain to climb, if they want to see the international stage this season. Their next match will be in Stage 2, against DetonatioN FocusMe.

The current RRQ roster is:

Marthinus "Ewok" Jacobus Van Der Walt is serving as the Head coach.

With these changes, RRQ hopes to solidify their ranks and make a strong push towards VALORANT Champions 2024.
