Day one of the RLCS Fall Split Major has come to a close with some fantastic games on display. This year, teams are battling it out for a share of the $310,000 prize fund. This is as well as those coveted RLCS points.

While there is no direct seed to the next Major on offer in Rotterdam, the potential of earning 32 points is enough to draw teams in and bring out their top strategies. Things are only just hotting up in the Swiss stage of the tournament. However, even these early stages can have a big impact on the tournament outcome.

Today’s games: Best teams in the world on display

It’s pretty common in esport tournaments across the world that the first day and the last day pull the most attention. The same can be said for the RLCS Fall Split Major! The beauty of a Swiss stage is that not every team has to play all the teams on the list so some can sail through in their favorite cars without facing the really formidable opponents. This is good news for those who have had a rough ride getting to the tournament already.

While it may come as no surprise that Karmine Corp and Moist Esports stormed through their series and earned a 2 - 0 result, the same cannot be said for Team Liquid, FaZe Clan and Team Secret, who all came away with 1 - 1 games. It remains to be seen how this will affect them going into day 2.

What’s to come? Plenty more Rocket League!

The road to Rotterdam has not been a clear path for a lot of teams but they seem determined to forge their path through the Swiss stage. While the whole Major only takes place over 4 days, it is nonetheless exhausting for players and fans alike.

In fact, by the end of Friday, fans will already know which teams are advancing to the playoffs stage. This will come after round 5 of the Swiss stage and see the very top teams playing against the lower teams in a similar bracket.

Who will come out on top? - The top teams at the RLCS Fall Split Major

It might be a little too early to predict who will come out on top of all of these fantastic Rocket League teams, but there are several Major winners among them already. In fact, when it comes to RLCS Fall Split Majors, there’s no real telling who might win.

There will certainly be those esports fans who have seen the rise and fall of the most prominent esports orgs in the game such as Team Liquid fail to reach the real heights of success. However, lesser known teams including Moist Esports have had an almost unprecedented level of success. Of course, it goes without saying that fans will have their eyes on teams that made their presence known at the RLCS Worlds Finals all the way back in August.
