Rocket League World Championship 2026 Format and Schedule

RLCS World Championship 2026 uses a three-step format with play-ins, a group stage and playoffs.

Play-Ins (September 15)

The World Championship opens on September 15 with play-in matches for eight lower seeds. These teams compete in a double-elimination bracket that sends four teams into the main groups and eliminates the other four from the 3v3 title race.

This play-in round reduces the field from 20 teams to 16 before the group stage.

The official Rocket League primer on X lists play-in broadcast start times at 10:30 CDT on the main stream and 11:00 CDT on the alternate stream.

Group stage (September 16–17)

The group stage runs on September 16 and 17 with 16 teams split into four groups. Each group uses a round-robin format in which every team plays three best-of series against its group opponents.

Standings in each group decide playoff entry:

  • 1st place in each group goes to the upper bracket.
  • 2nd and 3rd place go to the lower bracket.
  • 4th place is eliminated.

The Rocket League primer lists daily broadcast start times at 11:00 CDT on both the main and alternate streams for the group days. Group stage days also host semifinals in the 1v1 and 2v2 World Championship side events according to the same schedule post.

Playoffs and Finals (September 18–20)

Playoffs run from September 18 to 20 and decide the 3v3 World Champions.

Tournament pages show a bracket that combines group winners in an upper path with other qualifiers in a lower path, with all series played on stage at Dickies Arena once doors open for fans.

Alongside the main 3v3 playoffs, the event crowns winners in the 1v1 and 2v2 Rocket League World Championships.

The official schedule states that the 1v1 grand final is planned for September 18, the 2v2 grand final for September 19 and the 3v3 grand final for Championship Sunday on September 20.

Dickies Arena lists door times at 10:00 and show start at 10:40 local time on September 18, 19 and 20, matching the open-to-public days of the event.
