No More 1 LP Advancements!

Riot is updating its ranked promotion LP system in patch 14.13. After being promoted to a new ranked tier, LP will now be counted as a regular win. This should lessen the annoyance of having just one LP upon advancing to a new tier, particularly after grinding out a victory and amassing a ton of LP.

This shouldn't inflate the ranked climb and should be "more intuitive and true to players' game-by-game rank journey," according to the devs. If the amount of LP you gain from a regular win adds to a sum of zero after promotion, you'll be given one LP added to start in the new tier.
