Multiple reports indicate that G2 Esports superstar Nikola "NiKo" Kovač will join Team Falcons after the ongoing season concludes at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

French streamer Sebastien "KRL" Perez first broke the news on Saturday, stating that G2 and Falcons have reached an agreement to transfer the Bosnian star at the beginning of 2025. The deal, as KRL reported, only awaits NiKo’s signature.

Two days later, a follow-up report from Sheep Esports confirmed that the agreement was finalized on Monday, with the transfer valued between $1 million to $1.2 million. According to the report, NiKo plans to sign a three-year contract with Falcons, commencing on January 1.

Falcons' Second Attempt to Sign NiKo

This marks Falcons' second attempt to secure NiKo. In late 2023, the Saudi Arabian organization came close to signing the Bosnian when constructing their ambitious new roster.

Falcons expected NiKo to join players like Emil "Magisk" Reif and Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, but he decided at the last minute to stay with G2 for the 2024 season.

Falcons, having missed out on the No. 2 player of 2023, have since struggled to achieve the high ambitions they set after acquiring Magisk and coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen from Team Vitality.

The team aimed to create a new Counter-Strike superpower but has yet to deliver significant results.

Falcons are currently competing in the second edition of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade and have just secured a spot in the playoffs.

Simultaneously, they are also contending for a place at IEM Rio through the European closed qualifier, which runs concurrently with the Serbian event.
