The stage is set for the Grand Finale of IEM Chengdu, where two juggernauts of Counter-Strike, MOUZ and FaZe Clan, are poised to clash in a battle for supremacy.

The Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre will bear witness to this epic confrontation as both teams bring their A-game to vie for the coveted title.

With adrenaline-pumping action and nail-biting moments guaranteed, fans are in for a thrilling spectacle as these titans go head-to-head in pursuit of glory.

Playoffs Recap

In the quarterfinals, G2 made easy work of Virtus.pro. They won 2-0 in a commanding fashion, denying Virtus.pro their revenge, and moved onto the semifinals.

On the other side, it was not as smooth sailing for FaZe Clan. Team Liquid put up quite the fight. But in the end, FaZe managed to prevail at 2-1, sending them to the semifinals.

The first game of the Semifinals saw MOUZ take on G2. And this time, it was G2 who were the underdogs in this matchup. MOUZ were relentless, taking G2’s pick of Nuke.

Although G2 managed to close out MOUZ’ pick of Ancient, with impactful performances by Dorian "xertioN" Berman and Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo, MOUZ closed out the series 2-1 on Overpass.

In the second Semifinals matchup, Astralis were pitted against FaZe Clan. FaZe were given a shot at revenge from the group stage. And they did not waste it.

Although the new Astralis under Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz put up quite the fight, it was apparent that FaZe were the more experienced side this time. They closed out the series 2-1.

The Grand Finals: MOUZ vs FaZe Clan

MOUZ and FaZe Clan have their own history. These two iterations of the roster have met five times in the past and FaZe have always come out on top. With FaZe also taking away star rifler David "frozen" Čerňanský, MOUZ have had to rebuild to get to this position.

MOUZ looks very strong going into the Grand Final. With their star players Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás and Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo firing on all cylinders, and under the leadership of mastermind Major finalist Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek, this MOUZ roster has become one to be feared.

However, with the latest addition in Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin underperforming from time to time, MOUZ will need to step up their game to beat FaZe Clan.

FaZe Clan are no stranger to Grand Finals. This is their 8th Grand Final appearance since IEM Sydney 2023, where they picked up the trophy against Complexity. However, their success rate hasn’t been the best, winning only three out of the past seven.

With all the FaZe Clan players playing in peak form, they were the easy favorites coming into this tournament. And Karrigan will be looking to add another piece of silverware to his cabinet. FaZe Clan are a big stage team, and have proved it time and again. Although the Major was not theirs to claim, they would certainly fight for this one.

Although MOUZ have been outperforming everyone with their “just another game” philosophy, the big stage nerves might creep in sooner or later. We pick FaZe Clan to win this matchup 2-1.
