After NAVI swept BetBoom in the third-place decider, the Biohyalux ECM Arena witnessed MOUZ and MongolZ clash in Counter-Strike for the IEM Beijing 2026 trophy.

The MongolZ's performance ahead of the Grand Finals had reignited hopes for another trophy after the 1win Private Club 2 win. Unfortunately, the Global VRS Rankings leader was too tall a task for the Mongolian squad.

Let’s reflect on the final day of IEM Beijing 2026.

The MongolZ Rise Again

After dropping to 60th place in the VRS ranking, the MongolZ brought back cobrazera with nin9 as a Hail Mary to salvage the rest of the year. Many did expect them to find their footing, but a ride back to the top was unexpected.

In less than three weeks, MongolZ won a tier-2 trophy and clinched IEM Beijing 2026 Grand Finals to climb up 50 ranks to reach #9 on the VRS leaderboard.

At Beijing, they took down Legacy, Heroic, FURIA, and NAVI, announcing their return to the top tier of Counter-Strike on the cusp of the Singapore Major 2026.

MOUZ Sweep the MongolZ

Unfortunately for the MongolZ, they were not prepared for the current leader of the VRS ranking — MOUZ.

The international squad was easily the favorite to win the event without big names like Spirit and Vitality. Especially with Falcons crashing out early, MOUZ were the strongest, most well-drilled squad at the event.

Consequently, MOUZ swiftly swept MongolZ. On the three maps played, the Mongolian squad failed to secure double-digit rounds once.

XertioN led the MOUZ squad from the front; the MOUZ IGL was not only the top fragger but also had the most assists.

Major Incoming

Irrespective of the outcome, the MongolZ’s return to the top ahead of the Major adds excitement. The strong performances from MOUZ, NAVI, and FURIA only increase the challenges to Vitality’s claim on the Singapore Major 2026.

The action now moves to BLAST Rivals Hong Kong — the final stop before Singapore. The performances of the eight playing teams will set the tone for the upcoming Major.
