Jojopyun Renews with Movistar KOI until 2027

Joseph Joon "Jojopyun" Pyun will remain in Europe for another year after extending his contract with Movistar KOI through 2027. The player joined the Spanish organization in December 2024 as one of the world's most promising League of Legends players, and it seems their journey together is not over yet.

No Return to NA for Jojopyun Yet

Despite rumors of a possible return to North America following the team's struggles throughout the season, Jojopyun is here to stay. Movistar KOI has confirmed that the Canadian player will remain with the team through 2027.

The announcement featured a special slogan, "Es por Joselito. MKOI es por todos," which translates to "It's for Joselito. MKOI is for everyone."

In Spanish, Joseph is the English equivalent of José, which explains the affectionate nickname "Joselito." It's a heartwarming way to refer to the player and reflects the connection between Jojo, the fans, and the organization.

MKOI Turns the Season Around

The 2026 season wasn't easy for MKOI, but the organization pulled off one of the most impressive Lower Bracket runs of the year.

Against all odds, the team found its strength and took down some of the biggest contenders in the LEC to secure a spot at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, including Team Vitality and NAVI first up.

They even defeated home favorites Karmine Corp in France to make it all the way to the 2026 LEC Summer Split Grand Final, where they ultimately fell to G2 Esports.

Jojopyun is now heading to his third Worlds appearance, this time competing in front of a home crowd as this year's event is set to take place in North America.
