It was a hard-fought Grand Finals, but G2 Esports took down Karmine Corp to become the LEC 2026 Spring Champions. With their latest victory, G2 not only extend their sovereignty over Europe but also guarantee a spot straight to the bracket stage of MSI 2026.

G2 Continue to Make LEC History

Coming into the Grand Finals, G2 had amassed six consecutive match wins over Karmine Corp. There was no doubt as to who the favorites were, and yet the French side attempted to defy the odds by punching first.

What's more, KC actually found themselves up 2-1 to secure themselves not one but two shots at the title. Despite coming so close, though, KC just couldn't get across the finish line, losing the final two games and the title in heartbreaking fashion.

Now, Karmine Corp will need to go through the Play-In Stage of MSI 2026 before they get a chance to play with the big boys.

Kings of the LEC for a Reason

G2's resilience didn't just mean they would extend their reign of terror over Karmine Corp, though. The win marked the organization's 19th LEC title. In fact, of the last 13 LEC trophies, G2 has come away with 10 of them.

But every kingdom needs a ruler, and that title has to fall to G2's man in the Mid Lane, Rasmus "Caps" Winther. After the match, G2's General Manager Romain Bigeard explained that Caps has been "sick as hell" over the last few days. Sick or not, it seems there is simply nothing that will stop Caps from getting his hands on an LEC trophy.

Almost ten years after his LEC debut, the Danish Mid Laner continues to rack up the accolades. Now, it's on to MSI to try and convert his regional dominance into an international title.

SkewMond Stands Alone

While we must sing Caps' praises for the incredible longevity he continues to demonstrate, there is one player that stood above the rest today, and that is none other than G2's young Jungler Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan.

Despite his relatively short time competing at the highest level, SkewMond does not shy away from the bright lights that come with a Grand Finals bout. Far from it, SkewMond actually made League of Legends history after beating the record for the most kills in an LEC Grand Finals ever.

But the player's whopping 36 total kills throughout the series only tell part of the story. The fact is that SkewMond hard carried his team to the title. Suffice it to say that, in the three games that G2 won in these Grand Finals, SkewMond put up a total KDA of 30/0/15; simply out of this world.

As things stand, there truly seems to be no room for doubt as to who the best Western Jungler in the world currently is.
