In a riveting conclusion to the quarterfinal matches on the second day of the playoffs at the PGL Major Copenhagen, G2 Esports faced off against MOUZ.

It was G2 Esports who delivered a masterclass performance, executing flawless plays and demonstrating impeccable teamwork to dismantle MOUZ with a commanding 2-0 series victory.

G2 Esports 2-0 MOUZ

G2 started off strong on their pick of Inferno. Showing off incredible prowess on their T-side, G2 ended the first half 8-4. MOUZ managed to make the second half quite competitive. They won four rounds straight on their own T-side. But it was not enough, as G2 managed to close out the map 13-9.

G2 carried this momentum forward on MOUZ’s pick of Vertigo. The former Major finalists kicked off with six round wins right off the bat. But MOUZ replied back with five of their own. However, G2 was able to maintain their lead, as they ended the first half 7-5. MOUZ managed to win the pistol in the second half, but that was all from the young side. G2 pulled off another six round win streak to secure the map in a dominant 13-6.

Post-Match Analysis

After their shaky form in the group stages, G2 has absolutely shown up in the server. They completely cut down a MOUZ side that was favored to win and did so in quite a dominant fashion.

In a post-match interview with James Banks, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač was ecstatic that his team had shown up in this matchup. He also shared a few thoughts on being back on the big stage.

“I think we definitely geared up a bit more than the group stage. We knew that MOUZ was a very strong team. But I don't think we could have played worse than we did in the group stage. So, we really focused on how to improve ourselves. I don’t think we needed to fix so many things in game, but more outside and mentality-wise. So, I'm really happy with how we just approached the game in general…

We have more experience on the stage for sure, and I think it’s showing.”

G2 will face off against Natus Vincere in the Semifinals of the PGL Major Copenhagen.
