The fourth week of VCT Americas League Split 1 is upon us. The results of the week will seal the fate of multiple teams. With only Leviatan confirmed for the playoffs, the week four results might give multiple more teams that might qualify.

In the superweek, we saw a lot of surprising results and unexpected losses. These results have set-up week four as likely the most crucial weeks of Split 1.

Let’s go over what the week has in store for us:

VCT Americas League Split 1 Week 4: Preview and Predictions

27th April 14:00 PT G2 Esports vs. MIBR

The VCT Americas League Split 1 week 5 starts with a banger. The very first game of the week is a must win for both the competiting teams.

Our first team, from Group Alpha, G2 Esports, are already sitting on two losses. Losing another will foil all their plans to qualify for the Mid-season Playoffs.

If the situation is bad for G2 Esports, it is far worse for MIBR. Currently with no wins under their wing, MIBR is on the verge of exiting playoff contention. Another loss means they bid adieu to all thier playoff dreams.

Since the start of the regular season, MIBR has been struggling to find the rhythm and hasn't won a single map. G2 has won its games convincingly and put up a strong fight in the games it has lost. They also look like a better team coming into the fixture, giving them an upper hand.

83% Strafe voters have also selected G2 Esports as their team of choice to win the fixture.

27th April 17:00 PT Sentinels vs. LOUD

The Masters Madrid Champions are struggling, with a record of 2-2, Sentinels come into week 4 looking for a win. Similar to G2’s situation, Sentinels have to win against LOUD and then hope for the other fixtures go their way to stay in contention for Mid-Season Playoffs.

LOUD is on the similar boat to MIBR, where they must win over Sentinels. Losing for them means missing their first Global VALORANT event since the team’s inception. But they are LOUD and they can mount a comeback.

The fixture slightly favors Sentinels. They have been looking much better, additionally the 2024 record between the two teams also favor the North Americas side. With everything on the line, the two people’s favorite face once more, and the winner will stay in contention to qualify for Shanghai.

71% of Strafe voters side with Sentinels and think they will march forward with their playoff dream.

28th April 14:00 PT  Cloud9 vs. FURIA

FURIA has had a rough split. They look really weak and scattered, they have to shake off the previous losses and play to win in week 5. If they lose another game, they will be eliminated from the Mid-season Playoffs race.

Cloud9 themselves would love to secure their playoff chances. Their Superweek one-sided loss to 100 Thieves has put a dent in their perfect score sheet. But they still stand with a 4-1 record and will want to convert it to a 5-1 further bolstering their playoff chances.

Cloud9 will come as the favored side in the match-up, especially with FURIA’s performance, it’d be C9’s game to lose.

The Strafe voters agree with this assessment as 87% of them voted Cloud9 as the winner of the fixture.

28th April 17:00 PT NRG vs. Evil Geniuses

Evil Geniuses are at it again, after going 0-3 down, they took down the Masters Madrid Champions in an extremely close game. The win re-ignited their chances to qualify for the Mid-season Playoffs. A win against NRG in the upcoming fixture will be the perfect ingredient for another miracle run from them.

But their opponents,  NRG, are likely the strongest team in VCT Americas alongside KRU and Leviatan. The team of former champions has been playing extremely well and looks extremely dominant.

NRG did fumble against Leviatan, but came back the next game to dominate MIBR. The win will also be valuable for the America Superteam as it helps them to secure their spot in the playoffs.

As said previously, NRG is one of the strongest teams and thus will be the favored team in the match-up. 83% of the Strafe voters also think the same.

29th April 14:oo PT KRU Esports vs. 100 Thieves

Arguably the game with the least stakes, KRU- 100 Theives will affect the position but not as much the qualifications. both KRU Esports and 100 Thieves are in a good spot and will likely qualify for the playoffs. Both teams look really solid and if they continue their form, stand a solid chance to qualify for Masters Shanghai.

100 Thieves will be the first real test for KRU Esports from Group Omega. Until now the Latin-Ameican side has defeated FURIA, MIBR and LOUD, who have been struggling.

A win over 100 Thieves will not only solidify their place in the playoffs, but also solidify them as an Americas representative in Shanghai.

100 Thieves themselves will like to continue their winning ways.  They'd want to secure the playoffs spot and go into the NRG game without the pressure of qualification.

Both 100 Thieves and KRU Esports look amazing, both have a solid record and have been playing some of the best VALORANT in VCT Americas. Any of the two can win the fixture. 67% of the Strafe voters have chosen 100 Thieves as the team to win the fixture.

The VCT Americas League Split Week 5 kickoff tomorrow 28th April 14:00 PT. Catch the games live on YouTube and Twitch. You can also follow the game on Strafe.
