The January 2025 Call of Duty Community Update addresses several community concerns about Black Ops 6. Previously, we covered the measures taken by Activision and the RICOCHET to combat the title's cheating problem. In this article, we’ll delve deeper into the Community Update, summarizing Activision's plans for improving the overall player experience.

Server Issues and Lobby Crashing

Persistent community reports of server disconnects and lobby crashes have been a significant concern. The Demonware team has identified the root causes of these issues and implemented improvements to Call of Duty’s server infrastructure.

These upgrades are expected to significantly enhance server stability. Additionally, the team has addressed regional instability and committed to resolving future issues as they arise, ensuring the best possible player experience.

Disruptive Behavior and Voice Moderation

To maintain a balance between spirited trash talk and community standards, the Voice Chat Moderation system remains under close monitoring by the player support team. This system has proven effective in reducing exposure to derogatory comments while allowing competitive banter to thrive, ensuring a positive and fair in-game environment.

In-Game Updates for Season 02

The update also teases exciting new features coming with Season 02. Some of the highlights include:

  • Challenge tracker (10 manually tracked Challenges or 10 nearest completion)
  • Separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies
  • Improved maneuverability
  • Expanding Featured Playlist slots
  • Ability to Disable Cross-play for Console players
  • Vote to Forfeit - allows players to vote with their team to end a match early
  • New S02 Ranked Play rewards
  • Co-op Pause in Zombies - Host can now pause co-op
  • Warzone Updates
    • Faster Reload Speeds
    • Reduced Sprint-to-fire penalty
    • Increased jump ADS speed by 25%
    • Improved weapon swap speed
    • Movement improvements

We will discuss these updates with the Season 02 patch notes.

Bug Fixes

The update also lists a host of bug fixes for maps, gameplay mechanics, weapons, equipment, perks, contracts, and operators.

Lastly, the Community Update highlights the refinement to Ranked Play for Season 02. Season 02 launches on January 28, 2025, and Activision has set high expectations for a revitalized Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Stay tuned as the new season promises to deliver an even better player experience!
