aspas Reportedly Has an Offer and Is in Talks With Teams in EMEA and China for 2027
Erick “aspas” Santos is in talks with teams in EMEA and China ahead of the 2027 VALORANT season. The Brazilian, who was moved to MIBR's inactive roster in October, has reportedly received at least one firm offer but has yet to decide where he will play next.
The information comes from Bruno Povoleri of THESPIKE Brasil, who reported interest from organizations in both regions. More discussions are expected once the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) transfer window opens on Monday, November 2.
aspas Wants to Win Titles With His Next Team
According to the report, aspas is not prioritizing any particular league. Instead, he wants a team capable of competing for titles. He is open to projects in Brazil, elsewhere in the Americas, EMEA, China and the Pacific, provided he believes the roster can contend for championships.
Stability is another priority. The Brazilian wants to join an organization where he can stay for several years, ideally until the end of his career. That was also his intention when he renewed his contract with MIBR, before the organization changed course.
Unlike in previous negotiations, aspas does not intend to be directly involved in choosing the players who will make up his next roster. According to Povoleri, he now wants to find a project that already shares his ambition to win titles, without taking on a role in building the lineup.
Chinese Teams Have Shown Interest in aspas Before
Chinese organizations had already explored signing the Brazilian in 2025. At the time, another report from THESPIKE Brasil revealed that more than half of the teams in VCT China had made at least one inquiry about a potential move.
aspas ultimately prioritized staying with MIBR and extended his contract through December 2027. Now that the Brazilian organization is overhauling its roster, a move outside the Americas is once again a possibility, although no change of region has been confirmed.
What Is aspas' Contract Status With MIBR?
On October 23, MIBR announced that it was moving its VALORANT players to the inactive roster and making them available for transfer negotiations. The organization cited changes to the competitive structure for 2027 and the challenges of the regional transition.
Despite that decision, aspas remains under contract with MIBR through the end of 2027. In its statement, the organization said any potential transfers would have to be negotiated directly with MIBR.
That position was publicly challenged by Jérôme Coupez, aspas' agent, who said interested parties could contact him directly. The disagreement over how to approach transfer negotiations drew attention, but no agreement with another team has been announced.
As the transfer window opens, the Brazilian is expected to have more options to consider. For now, no new team has been announced and no transfer has been completed. The interest from organizations in EMEA and China remains at the stage of discussions and offers.
