VCT EMEA 2024 action resumes on the 15th, showcasing the current 6 best teams in the league, according to their collective performance over Stages 1 and 2. The 2024 VCT EMEA Playoffs for Stage 2 will run from the 15th of July until the 20th of the same month. All 6 teams will be vying for the same prize, qualification to Champions in August.

Teams in VCT EMEA Playoffs Stage 2

Through virtue of performance, 6 teams have qualified for this stage of the tournament. Furthermore, the 2 best performing teams overall - that being Team Heretics and FUT Esports - also received byes into the Upper Bracket. The 6 teams to have qualified for the VCT EMEA Playoffs Stage 2 are:

VCT EMEA Playoffs Stage 2 Format

As previously mentioned, both Team Heretics and FUT Esports have earned an additional privilege of a bye thanks to their top performance during the regular season. This means that both teams will advance straight to the Upper Bracket.

The tournament will be played as a Hybrid-Elimination bracket. The first round involving the bottom 4 teams will be the Knockout Round and will be single-elimination. For the two teams that advance past this stage, they will enter the Upper Bracket Semifinals, where Team Heretics and FUT Esports await. This portion of the bracket onwards will be double-elimination.

All series played will be in Bo3 format, excluding the Lower Finals and the Grand Finals, both of which will be played in Bo5 format. The top 3 teams will qualify for Champions.

To note, both Team Heretics and FUT enter this bracket with a massive advantage. Either team only needs to win a single series to secure their spot at Champions. Furthermore, there will be no Last Chance Qualifier this year for the teams that do not qualify via this Playoffs bracket.

Abyss

Abyss, VALORANT’s newest map, will enter the professional map pool starting Playoffs. The map will replace Split in the rotation.

Team Vitality CEO Neo: "For Us to be a Global Leader Means Being a Contender at EWC"

Team Vitality remains one of the most influential and well-known esports organizations to date. The Paris-based org fields over 20 esports teams in various esports, though their immensely impressive results in Counter-Strike take center stage.  Being one of the organizations present at Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, we managed to speak with Fabien "Neo" Devide, Co-Founder and CEO of the Hive, just after an interview with Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, at the opening press conference at EWC. Neo provided a ton of insight into the organization's participation at this year's edition of EWC in Paris. He expressed his desire for the org to perform to the highest standards, but also highlighted that rivalry is key to grow the ecosystem. Additionally, Neo gave strong opinions on the growth of mobile esports following last year's Vitality's takeover and merger with Indonesian side Bigetron, stressing the need for innovation and following ideas in the east, as much as the west.
