Premier: A New Era in Competitive Play

VALORANT's Premier is an in-game competitive tournament system. Specifically designed to be the proving ground for players seeking to test their skills in a highly competitive arena. As we enter Episode 8 in January 2024, Premier takes center stage, becoming the qualification route for the prestigious Challengers and the ultimate dream of making it to the Champions Tour directly from in-game prowess.

Episode 8 marks the transitional phase, necessitating a ranked requirement for Premier teams aspiring to qualify for Contenders—the highest tier of Premier. Teams will need to attain an Immortal 3 or higher rank, making recent and consistent ranked play crucial for eligibility.

The Path to Contender and Qualifying for Challengers

Reaching the Contender Division is the key milestone on your journey to Challengers. Here's what you need to achieve this feat:

  1. Immortal 3 Rank: A current rank of Immortal 3 or higher is mandatory for Contender Tier eligibility. Keep those ranked matches up-to-date and showcase your prowess.
  1. Assemble the Best Team: Building a formidable team is critical. Seek out players with the highest ranks, ensuring their achievements are recent. A strong team enhances your chances of qualifying for Contenders Premier.

  • Current Pros Exclusion: Active Challenger or International League roster players cannot compete in Premier.
  • One account per player: Players are allowed to participate in Premier with only one account.

Timing and Competition Calendar

Understanding the timeline is vital for your journey to Challengers:

  • To be eligible for Contender, you must achieve a competitive ranking of Immortal 3 or higher, before January 10th, 2024.
  • Register your team in Premier with a Contender Division Roster, between January 8th and January 17th, 2024.
  • Sign up to compete in Challenger Open Qualifiers for promotion into Challengers with the respective Contender Rosters.
  • Compete in Challenger Open Qualifiers throughout January for promotion into Challengers.
  • Teams failing to qualify for the Challengers during the Open Qualifiers get another shot in the Premier Contender.

Specific information on Challenger League sign-ups will come out in the coming weeks via Regional Channels.

Two stages of competition between January and April will lead to the Premier Contender Play-Offs. From which the teams will qualify for the Challengers Promotion and Relegation Tournament.
