Today, 10 November, Karmine Corp has bid farewell to the majority of its Valorant 2023 roster, retaining only Ryad "sh1n" Ensaad. The departure comes on the heels of a tumultuous season that was plagued with disappointment. Notably, their best performance at LOCK//IN was overshadowed by subsequent challenges in the EMEA League, culminating in a disappointing finish and an absence from International events.

Reflecting on the VCT 2023 season of this Karmine Corp roster

Karmine Corp's journey in 2023 began with a glimmer of hope as they emerged victorious against FunPlus Phoenix at LOCK//IN. However, the elation was short-lived as they faced a formidable challenge from LOUD in the next round. The subsequent EMEA League proved to be a tough battleground for the team, managing only two wins against BBL Esports and KOI. The struggles elevated with Newzera "abandoning the roster" and ZE1SH moving to the active roster, as a substitute. Ultimately, Karmine Corp found themselves at the bottom of the league, leading to an arduous journey through the LCQ.

Challenges organizations face of starting from scratch

The decision to drop an entire roster is a formidable challenge for any organization. Karmine Corp, faced with dwindling prospects in the 2023 season, had to make tough choices. Despite narrowly avoiding elimination in the LCQ, the team failed to qualify for Champions, leaving them with no chances of redemption. The subsequent downtime fueled rumors about the team's future, culminating in a half-hearted announcement during the KCX3 Showmatch that they would not be continuing with the current roster for the 2024 VCT.

Roster status: Released and restricted free agents

Following the decision to part ways with most of the roster, Karmine Corp released former head coach pm and Newzera. However, ScreaM, Nivera, and xms continue as restricted free agents, giving them the opportunity to explore potential new opportunities while still under contract. The uncertainty looms over the fate of sh1n, the sole remaining member of the original lineup, as the organization evaluates the composition of their starting lineup for the upcoming 2024 VCT season.

Paving the way forward: Karmine Corp's rebuilding phase

As Karmine Corp faces a crucial rebuilding phase ahead of the 2024 VCT season, questions linger about the team's composition and potential strategies moving forward. The challenges of dropping a roster and starting anew are immense, requiring careful consideration of player dynamics, coaching staff, and overall team synergy. The esports community awaits updates from Karmine Corp as they navigate this transitional period, eager to see how the organization will redefine itself and strive for success in the competitive world of Valorant.
