The European RMR A for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, starting on November 17 and running for three days, will see 16 teams competing in a Swiss format for a coveted spot at one of the biggest Counter-Strike tournaments of the year. Only the top seven teams will make it to the Shanghai Major, while the remaining nine will be eliminated.

Below, we’ve highlighted some of the teams with the strongest chances of qualifying, analyzing their current form, strengths, and potential to secure a top 7 position in the European RMR A.

The Favorites

Natus Vincere

Natus Vincere enter as the undisputed favorites. Currently ranked number one worldwide, NaVi has consistently dominated the CS2 scene in 2024, proving that their first CS2 Major win was no fluke.

After reaching seven grand finals and securing four titles this year, NaVi's stability, strategic depth, and firepower make them a top contender for qualification. Led by a highly synergized roster, NaVi will be aiming not just to qualify but to cement their position as the team to beat at the Shanghai Major.

MOUZ

MOUZ boasts a young and energetic roster under the experienced leadership of Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek. While they’ve experienced some inconsistencies, MOUZ have shown they can hold their own against elite teams.

With a win at ESL Pro League Season 19 and notable finishes at major events like Chengdu, Cologne, and Rio, MOUZ are in prime position to secure a spot at the Major. Siuhy, a former Major finalist, will undoubtedly drive his team towards another deep run.

Team Vitality

Although Team Vitality’s 2024 has been less fruitful than in past years, they remain a potent force in any competition. Known for their aggressive tactics under the guidance of Dan "apEX" Madesclaire and the presence of CS deity Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, Vitality has the individual talent and strategic diversity to outperform anyone.

And now with William "mezii" Merriman, who has integrated nicely with the team, also pulling out clutch performances whenever required, Vitality could dominate everyone if they manage to bring their A-game to the RMR.

SAW

Portuguese team SAW have become a rising threat, especially after their victory at ESL Challenger Katowice 2024 and a strong showing with a third-fourth place finish at Cologne. While initially seen as underdogs, SAW have proven themselves against solid Tier 2 teams and consistently brought impressive performances.

Riding the wave of their recent form, SAW could pull off some upsets in the RMR, and many will be watching to see if they can continue their upward trajectory.

The Dark Horses

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan’s year has been less impressive compared to their previous standards, with only a single trophy to show. Despite this, FaZe’s consistent, if unspectacular, form makes them difficult to rule out.

Known for their resilience and adaptability, FaZe reached the finals of the inaugural CS2 Major and have remained competitive. If they can tap into their collective experience, FaZe may well capitalize on their stability to qualify.

BetBoom Team

BetBoom Team has remained steady in the Tier 2 scene throughout the year, with a series of notable placements and even a few tournament wins. Though their previous attempt at reaching a Major fell short at the RMR stage in Copenhagen, BetBoom is likely to come into the European RMR A motivated and prepared.

Their consistency and resilience make them a solid pick for qualification.

Team Falcons

Falcons have been a team to watch in 2024, albeit for mixed reasons. Despite high-profile signings from ENCE’s core, as well as CS legends Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Emil "Magisk" Reif, Falcons have struggled to translate their investments into results.

However, the recent addition of Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev, on loan, has turned heads, adding both firepower and experience to the team. Although their initial performances with s1mple were underwhelming, Falcons’ potential to upset is undeniable. Should they hit their stride, Falcons could be the surprise of the RMR.

The European RMR A promises to be an intense battleground, with top-tier talent and surprise contenders vying for the limited slots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. As the competition unfolds, only time will tell which seven teams will rise to the occasion and punch their tickets to Shanghai.
