The Best 3 Midlaners Of Dota 2 Patch 7.41a

The Best 3 Midlaners Of Dota 2 Patch 7.41a

Some patches are more balanced than others, and 7.41a was in dire need of an emergency balance update, which came with 7.41a. Despite having a second patch in the middle of a single tournament, we move on with the best heroes of the patch.

Things tend to move faster at the beginning of patches, so keep that in mind. Use this information as both a reference and a warning to take advantage of these heroes as quickly as possible before they get patched out of the meta.

Leshrac

Leshrac is the undisputed best midlaner post-patch 7.41.

He Shall Restore the Imbalance

Leshrac was one of the heroes that changed the least after patch 7.41 but received a big indirect buff via items. The reworked Bloodstone and Shiva’s Guard were significant buffs to the hero. Bloodstone’s Weakness Aura makes every tick from Diabolic Edict and Pulse Nova deal considerably more damage overall.

At the same time, new items such as the now-nerfed Consecrated Wraps and Crella’s Crozier also work well with him, considering he already benefits from additional stats and can take full advantage of Rite of Rumusque.

He received a small damage nerf to Diabolic Edict but should still come out on top and remain a viable option. Things will become clearer after ESL One Birmingham is over and we get more data.

Sniper

Sniper had similar results with slight buffs and indirect buffs via items.

He is doing the HOHO and the HAHA

Sniper seems to have followed a similar pattern in patch 7.41a, receiving an unexpected buff in the form of another item: Hydra’s Breath. The new item adds to Sniper’s already impressive damage output and attack range.

On top of that, the additional projectiles inherited from Specialist’s Array make it easier for Sniper to keep clustered enemies in check. His high attack speed, combined with a 30% proc chance for extra shots, can keep an entire team at bay by constantly refreshing the miasma counter from the high ground.

Finally, Hydra’s Breath miasma makes it easier to deal with tanky heroes, including rising stars such as Lifestealer and Alchemist, by dealing damage based on the target’s maximum health, similar to Bloodseeker’s new Aghanim’s Shard.

Ember Spirit

They will learn balance (or not)

Closing off the list, Ember Spirit follows the theme of item buffs but has the advantage of greater mobility and versatility when compared to Leshrac. His innate ability, when fully upgraded (max level and Shard), is effectively a free Radiance.

When you add the possibility of dodging spells with Sleight of Fist, the more reliable control of Searing Chains, and the ability to harass enemies from a distance, it becomes easier to understand that he might give Leshrac a run for his money in the near future.

Teams tend to prefer Ember Spirit, so we might see him overtake Leshrac as a more balanced midlaner in terms of availability of built-in strengths. He has barely broken the 50% win rate and has the potential to soar higher depending on how things develop from here.
