Team Spirit has officially unveiled its Dota 2 roster for the 2024-25 season, introducing two new players: Alexander ‘Rue’ Filin and the highly-touted Alan ‘Satanic’ Gallyamov. These new additions mark a significant shift for Team Spirit as they aim to revitalize their lineup following a disappointing 2024 season.

A bold roster overhaul

After an early exit both The International 2024 (TI13) and Riyadh Masters 2024, with a 9-12th place finish, Team Spirit opted for a revolution. Longtime players Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk and Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov stepped down from the active roster, taking a break from professional play.

Team Spirit CEO Nikita ‘Cheshir’ Chukalin reaffirmed the team’s commitment to developing emerging players:

"During this transfer window, we considered various options of filling the roster. Ultimately, we decided to add young players, whose qualities we know well. Working with young talent is part of our club’s philosophy and a strength of our management."

Satanic: A rising Star worth over $1 million?

The most exciting of the new signings is Alan ‘Satanic’ Gallyamov, a 16-year-old prodigy who quickly rose to prominence by reaching the 13,000 MMR mark. According to the team manager Dmitriy "Korb3n" Belov, Satanic’s potential is so high that he placed a million-dollar price tag on him during a recent interview:

"I wouldn’t sell Satanic even for half a million right now. His starting price is one million. The player is 16-years-old, super promising. Look at Perfecto and electroNic who moved to Cloud9, their buyout was roughly the same."

Korb3n compared Satanic’s value to ex-NAVI Counter-Strike stars Perfecto and electroNic, whose transfer to Cloud9 reportedly cost $2 million.

Satanic and Belov are good partners within the game, having played for Yellow Submarine, a team Belov created as a side project to develop young talent. The teenager’s meteoric rise in European Dota 2, along with his near qualification for PGL Wallachia Season 1, has caught the attention of many.

What to expect from Rue and Satanic

The two newest additions bring different levels of experience and expectations. Rue, who began his Dota 2 career in 2023, steps into the Position 4 Support role. Though he has limited exposure to top-tier competition, his strong potential is seen as a good fit for the squad.

Meanwhile, Satanic’s arrival has generated a whole new level of buzz. The young carry has been compared to other high-value esports stars due to his raw talent and high MMR standing. Despite his youth, expectations are high as he takes on the mantle of leading the squad's aggressive gameplay. With veterans like Yaroslav ‘Miphoshka’ Naidenov by his side, the wonderkid will be able to learn from the best while delivering the high-impact plays the team needs to reclaim its status.

Meet the full Team Spirit roster for the upcoming season:

  • Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov – Position 1 (Carry)
  • Denis “Larl” Sigitov - Position 2 (Mid)
  • Abdimalik “Malik” Sailau – Position 3 (Offlane, temporary until Collapse returns)
  • Alexander "Rue" Filin – Position 4 (Support)
  • Yaroslav “Miphoshka” Naidenov – Position 5 (Support/Captain)

What’s next for Team Spirit?

Team Spirit will put their new lineup to the test at PGL Wallachia Season 2 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, both on October 2024. These tournaments will be a proving ground for the new additions as they seek to integrate  and begin the journey of establishing themselves in the competitive Dota 2 scene.

In summary, Team Spirit’s philosophy of working with young, promising talent will be on full display. Fans are eager to see if this new roster can recreate the magic that led Team Spirit to their previous successes and whether Satanic will live up to the hype.
