Aurora released their Dota 2 roster for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The organization has recruited players from around the world, with Aybek "TA2000" Tokayev, Abed "Abed" Yusop, and Oleh "kaori" Medvedok.

Despite dominating the SEA region, Aurora faltered in International events and the new lineup aims to address that.

How does the new lineup compare to Aurora's former roster?

Aurora 2024 at TI
Regional Powerhouse, but lacking on the International stage.

Aurora has kept the offlane duo of Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong and Worawit "Q" Mekchai while bringing in three new players. So how does the new lineup look on paper?

Nuengnara "23" Teeramahanon is one of the most impressive players in Southeast Asia, regularly breaking MMR records in the world. He has incredible achievements professionally as well. However, 23 can be inconsistent in his performance at tournaments, and he has been emotional in several pivotal matches.

TA2000 on the other hand has yet to hit the same highs that 23 has in the past. But he is more consistent in his plays and an overall more stable carry. Overall it's hard to pick which of the two carries are better, it's more about which one fits the team's playstyle more.

Since leaving Shopify Rebellion in 2023, Abed hasn't been able to replicate his former success. Time will tell if he was the issue or if his former team held him back. We believe there is a lot of talent in Abed and the new Aurora will give him a good chance to prove it.

While the cores might be an upgrade over the previous roster, between Oli and Kaori, the Malaysian star has consistently done incredibly well. Whether as a member of Talon, IG, and Aurora. Almost every player is a downgrade to Oli and Kaori has huge shoes to fill.

We look forward to seeing how the new roster performs at the upcoming qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha and DreamLeague 24.
