T1 Dominates Viewership and Features in LCK 2026's Five Most-Watched Matches

T1 did not finish the LCK 2026 season with the title, but it was difficult to find another team that attracted more attention from viewers throughout the season. According to data published by Esports Charts, the organization featured in all five matches with the highest peak concurrent viewership in the competition.

The numbers become even more striking at the top of the ranking. The three most-watched matches of the entire LCK 2026 season all featured T1 and surpassed 1.5 million peak concurrent viewers. The biggest peak came in one of the series that helped shape the team's playoff run.

The Five Most-Watched Matches of LCK 2026

The fourth-round playoff clash between T1 and Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) led the season with 1,556,100 peak concurrent viewers. The two organizations would meet again in the lower bracket final, and the rematch nearly reached the same figure, peaking at 1,527,591 viewers.

Next came T1 against Dplus KIA (DK), which reached 1,514,449 viewers. The top five also included a regular-season meeting between T1 and Gen.G, as well as the playoff opener against BNK FEARX (BFX).

How Much Does T1 Affect LCK Viewership?

A comparison with matches that did not feature T1 helps put those figures into perspective. On the opening day of the LCK 2026 season, Hanwha Life Esports' 2-0 win over BRION peaked at more than 410,000 concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts. The following series, T1 against KT Rolster, reached 823,884 viewers. On the same broadcast day, the T1 match therefore attracted a peak roughly twice as high.

Matches without T1 were still capable of drawing substantial audiences. During the separate LCK 2026 Road to MSI stage, Dplus KIA's series against BRION peaked above 400,000 viewers, while Dplus KIA against KT Rolster surpassed 820,000. Even so, those figures remained well below the 1.2 million-plus peaks recorded by every match in the season-ending top five, all of which featured T1.

Of the five series on the list, T1 won three. The team beat Gen.G 2-0 during the regular season, defeated BNK FEARX 3-2 in the first round of the playoffs, and eliminated Dplus KIA with a 3-1 victory.

The two losses both came against Hanwha Life Esports. In their first playoff meeting, T1 took a 2-0 lead before being reverse-swept and losing the series 3-2. The result sent the team to the lower bracket, where it still managed to eliminate Dplus before facing HLE again.

LCK Average Viewership Grew in 2026

T1's constant presence among the biggest peaks came during a season in which the LCK's average audience also grew. According to Esports Charts, broadcasts averaged close to 400,000 concurrent viewers, an increase of more than 10% compared with 2025.

Total Hours Watched fell by approximately 7%, but the broadcasts themselves were also shorter. The competition's airtime decreased by around 16% following format changes, including a reduction in the number of series during the stage after MSI.

By peak viewership, LCK 2026 finished as the eighth-most-watched edition in league history. Among competitive League of Legends tournaments played in 2026 by the time the competition ended, the South Korean league ranked third in peak viewership.

Even without reaching the final, T1 was the common denominator behind the season's biggest audience numbers. Faker and his teammates will now have Worlds as their final major competitive commitment of the year, once again playing in front of an audience that followed the team in the millions during its domestic campaign.

Hanwha Life Stopped T1 From Reaching the Final

The second series against HLE was for a place in the LCK 2026 grand final. This time, Hanwha Life won 3-1 and ended T1's run in the competition. With the result, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and his team finished the season in third place.

HLE advanced to face Gen.G in the final but could not repeat its earlier success. Gen.G lost the opening game of the grand final before responding with three straight wins, closing out the series 3-1 to claim the LCK 2026 title.

The result marked the organization's second consecutive league title and seventh LCK championship overall. Hanwha Life finished as runner-up, while T1 and Dplus KIA completed the top four.

T1 Has Qualified for Worlds 2026

Third place also determined T1's position among the teams qualified for Worlds 2026. The team will head to the World Championship as the LCK's third seed, behind champion Gen.G and runner-up Hanwha Life Esports.

Dplus KIA secured the region's fourth berth. Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, and Dplus KIA will therefore represent South Korea at the season's premier international tournament.

T1 had already secured qualification during the playoffs. Its subsequent 3-1 win over Dplus and third-place finish following the loss to HLE determined its position as the region's third seed.

Worlds 2026 is scheduled to run from October 15 to November 14. The Swiss Stage begins on October 23, while the knockout stage will take place in November, with the grand final scheduled for November 14.
