LoL Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Average Viewership Rises 8% Despite Lower Peak
The Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage has come to an end, with the tournament now moving into its final phase as the remaining teams battle for the most prestigious title in League of Legends.
Viewership numbers brought both good and bad news, with peak viewership falling compared to last year, while average viewership increased by 8.15%. T1 remains the biggest driver of audience numbers.
Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage Viewership
At Worlds 2026, T1 dominated the viewership rankings, featuring in three of the five most-watched matches of the tournament so far.
However, none of these games managed to surpass the two-million-viewer mark, unlike last year's edition, which saw three matches reach that milestone.

Aside from peak viewership, all other metrics recorded an increase compared to last year. Hours watched grew by 10.5%, while average viewership rose by 8.15%.
Looking at the language breakdown, every broadcast language except Korean saw an increase in viewership. French and Portuguese broadcasts recorded the most significant growth, rising by an impressive 114.5% and 106.3%, respectively.
The strong performances of both Karmine Corp and LOS, who remained in the tournament until the 2-2 stage and fought for a place in the Knockout Stage, help explain the significant growth in French and Portuguese-language viewership.
Although LOS ultimately failed to qualify, their run still marked an important moment for the Brazilian fanbase and the history of competitive League of Legends in the region.
Drop in Peak Viewership
The tournament's location in the United States could also be a contributing factor, as the time zone makes it less convenient for viewers in several regions around the world to follow the matches live.
T1's early qualification for the Knockout Stage could also have contributed to the decline, as the team played fewer matches during the Swiss Stage compared to previous years, limiting the number of opportunities to draw in its massive fanbase.
The decline in peak audience was primarily driven by lower Korean viewership, with T1 playing a significant role in this trend.
As a major driver of the Korean audience, the team's relatively straightforward path through the Swiss Stage meant fewer high-stakes matches to attract viewers, helping explain the drop in peak numbers.
