Just 12 days after Florian "syrsoN" Rische decided to step down, BIG have confirmed that Marcel "hyped" Köhn has been permanently moved into the active roster.

hyped was already playing with the main lineup. As he helped them take the second qualifier spot in the European Closed Qualifier for the Paris Major. He had quite the performance in the tournament, getting a 1.25 rating.

syrsoN’s move to the bench has ended a 3-year stint that started in January of 2020 when he had made the move Sprout.

syrsoN was scouted as Germany’s brightest talent, and delivered from the start. He was a pivotal member to propel BIG to the top of European Counter Strike during the online era. However, He has not managed to remain consistent after the game returned to LAN. Dropping from a 1.10 rating to 1.02 over the course of the 3 years, his performance left more to be desired.

BIG’s Chief Gaming Officer Roman “Roman.R” Reinhardt had this to say about this move:

“In a mutual agreement with Florian "syrsoN" Rische, we have made the decision together that he will take a place on the bench until further notice. As a replacement, Marcel "hyped" Köhn will take his place in the main CSGO team. With his excellent performance in the BIG OMEN Academy, he has earned the opportunity to demonstrate what he is capable of, especially after his key performances in the IEM Rio Qualifier.”

This move comes just ahead of ESL Pro League Season 17. But any confirmation for Syrson to move to another team has yet to be made.
