Riot Games officially launched Valorant in China in 2023. With the launch of Valorant in China, we saw multiple Chinese teams taking the center stage and qualifying for international events throughout the year.

China has always been a central part of Riot Games’ esports division. In League of Legends, China is amongst the top regions in the world and has a league of its own. The League of Legends Pro League features top LoL teams from China competing in a league format.

Following the same pattern, around July 2023, Riot Games confirmed a fourth league based in China to be joining the VCT circuit.

In the following month, Riot Games announced the plans for VCT China 2024 along with the overall VCT 2024 structure.

VCT China will feature 10 partnered teams; similar to VCT Americas, VCT EMEA and VCT Pacific. Additionally, it will also feature an Ascension slot that will be filled after the VCT Ascension tournament that will be announced shortly.

(Note: Qualifications for the VCT China Ascension tournament will be based on accumulated points from the Fearless Covenant CN Evolution Series Open Tournament.)
