PGL Cluj Napoca, the first PGL event of 2025, is set to kick off this Valentine's Day, as 16 of the world's top CS2 teams prepare to battle for a massive $1,250,000 prize pool in Romania. The tournament will run from February 14-23, featuring an exciting mix of established powerhouses and emerging talent.

Tournament Structure

The competition will unfold across two Romanian cities. The initial group stage takes place at the PGL Studios in Bucharest, while the playoffs will move to the prestigious BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca for an electrifying conclusion in front of a live audience.

Format

The tournament employs a comprehensive 16-team Swiss System format for the group stage, where all matches are Bo3 encounters.

Teams need three wins to advance and three losses to be eliminated.

The top 8 teams will progress to the playoffs, featuring a single-elimination bracket with Bo3 matches throughout, culminating in an epic Bo5 Grand Final.

The tournament field features an intriguing mix of established organizations and rising stars, with teams selected based on their Valve Regional Standings (VRS) rankings. Notable participants include:

A last-minute change saw FURIA Esports withdraw from the event, with Imperial Valkyries stepping in as their replacement, adding an interesting dynamic to the competition.
