Undeniably the best APAC team in Valorant, Paper Rex, announced their sixth and final member of the VCT'23 roster Yesterday. Patiphan "CigaretteS" Posri will join the team alongside the Paper Rex core of Benkai, d4v4i, mindfreak, f0rsaken, and Jingg.

The W Gaming legends:

Paper Rex entered the Valorant scene by signing Brxndon, Egoist, Retla, Jdfaker, and pndmonia in July 2020. The team needed more success.

The second iteration of the roster came with the switch of Tommy, Mindfreak, f0rsakeN, Benkai, and D4v4i, along with coach alecks to Valorant. With Shiba replacing Tommy, the team made their first international appearance after placing second in VCT APAC stage 3 challengers. While they did not leave their mark, the team showed great potential. Soon Jinggg, the current member, joined the team.

The team failed to win anything significant in 2021 but come 2022. They were different beasts. With the deadly duo of Jinggg and f0rsaken as the head of the attack, the team went on to win the VCT 2022 Stage 1 MYSG challengers, followed by VCT APAC stage 1 Challengers to attend the first LAN of 2022 in Reykjavik.

At Reykjavik, despite losing to DRX, the team made an incredible lower bracket run, defeating NA#1 seed Guard and EU#1 seed G2 Esports 2-0 to play against Zeta Division. But they lost to the Zeta division, placing 4th in the first LAN of 2022.

When stage 2 rolled around. The W gaming of Paper Rex didn't stop, and with their explosive style of Valorant, they crushed the MY/SG and APAC challenges and reached the event finals at the VCT Masters Copenhagen without breaking much sweat.

On their way, they defeated Guild ESports, Fnatic, and Optic Gaming, making a statement. Come to the finals, the game between FPX and Paper Rex was tooth and nail, and both teams were at each other, but a close last-map loss cost them their first international trophy.

The Valorant Champion's run for the team was underwhelming, with the team losing to Leviatan and Team Liquid and exiting early. The team is still one of the best teams of 2022. They have been a force throughout the year.

The Partnered Paper Rex:

With the conclusion of Valorant Champions and the Official Valorant Season, Riot announced the Partnered organization, and one of the partnered organizations was Paper Rex. The organization's CEO, Nikhil Hathiramani, took to Twitter to share the news. Soon also clarifying that the team would stick together. There'd be no changes to the current roster as it is working well.

The team is in people's hearts, and the decision to keep all the players only made the Paper Rex organization more beloved. While many organizations are trying to change their team, Paper Rex was one of the few teams who tried to keep the change at a minimum.

The day before, the organization announced the addition of a sixth member. Yesterday, the official Twitter handle of Paper Rex announced the addition of CigaretteS to the roster as the official sixth man. CigaretteS was a professional CSGO player for MiTH and has been a streamer.

Team Vitality CEO Neo: "For Us to be a Global Leader Means Being a Contender at EWC"

Team Vitality remains one of the most influential and well-known esports organizations to date. The Paris-based org fields over 20 esports teams in various esports, though their immensely impressive results in Counter-Strike take center stage.  Being one of the organizations present at Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, we managed to speak with Fabien "Neo" Devide, Co-Founder and CEO of the Hive, just after an interview with Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, at the opening press conference at EWC. Neo provided a ton of insight into the organization's participation at this year's edition of EWC in Paris. He expressed his desire for the org to perform to the highest standards, but also highlighted that rivalry is key to grow the ecosystem. Additionally, Neo gave strong opinions on the growth of mobile esports following last year's Vitality's takeover and merger with Indonesian side Bigetron, stressing the need for innovation and following ideas in the east, as much as the west.
