Guess who’s back, back again. nitr0’s back, tell a friend. Guess who’s back, Guess who’s back…

In a surprising twist, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella is expected to make another comeback to the Counter-Strike scene, as reported by dust2.us. The North American in-game leader previously departed from competitive Counter-Strike in 2023 after mixed results with Team Liquid.

During his second stint with Liquid, nitr0's performance saw highs and lows, including a Quarter-Finals finish at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, followed by an early exit at IEM Dallas, marking his final event with the team.

Since nitr0's departure, Team Liquid has undergone significant changes, with Keith "NAF" Markovic and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis being the sole remaining players from his era. The organization transitioned to an international roster with two in-game leaders, but results were elusive.

nitr0 sparks interest among North American teams

nitr0's departure from Liquid saw him venture into the Valorant esports scene, joining M80’s roster for six months before announcing his step down earlier this month. However, recent reports indicate his interest in returning to Counter-Strike, with discussions ongoing with several teams according to the same report.

The specifics of nitr0's return remain uncertain, particularly in light of his previous comments about balancing travel demands and family commitments, which influenced his decision to leave Liquid.

As the Counter-Strike community anticipates nitr0's comeback, attention now shifts to where he might land during the NA scene's summer shuffle. Many teams are actively seeking roster improvements ahead of the Perfect World Major Shanghai 2024 Americas RMR, making nitr0's potential return a focal point of speculation and interest.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
