Marriage Proposal Surprises Fans at VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final
A marriage proposal became part of the VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final on Sunday, October 18, in Shanghai, China. In front of the arena crowd, a fan proposed to his girlfriend, who said yes. The moment was also shown on the official broadcast.
The couple has been together for ten years and has played VALORANT together for five. During his speech, the fan recalled how his girlfriend, now his fiancée, had supported him since his days as a medical student ranked Bronze, all the way through becoming a doctor. He also joked about his current skill level in the game.
"You've been together with me for 10 years, and we've played Valorant together for five. You've been my best friend for what feels like forever. You supported me through everything when I was nothing as a medical student and in bronze, and now as a washed up immortal who happens to be a doctor. When I look into your eyes, nothing else matters, because it's just you and me. Will you do me the honor of being my wife? Will you marry me, Ashley?"
After Ashley said yes, the broadcast captured the couple celebrating.
LOUD Wins VALORANT Champions for the Second Time
The Grand Final also delivered a historic result for Brazil. LOUD defeated Team Vitality 3-1 to win VALORANT Champions 2026, becoming the first organization in the game's history to claim two Champions world titles. The Brazilian organization previously lifted the trophy in 2022, when it beat OpTic Gaming by the same score.
LOUD achieved the feat with the youngest roster ever to reach a Champions Grand Final. Captain Roberto "erde" Lobos, just 18, also made history as the youngest MVP in tournament history, breaking a record held by Erick "aspas" Santos since 2022. After the victory, the Chilean also shared an emotional moment during an onstage interview.
