LOS have secured their place in the CBLOL 2027. On Monday, October 12, the team defeated KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas 3-1 in the CBLOL Promotion Tournament Grand Final, securing another season in Brazil's top-tier League of Legends competition.
The victory came just two days after LOS won the CBLOL 2026 Split 2 title by defeating FURIA 3-2 on Saturday, October 10. Despite being crowned Brazilian champions and qualifying for Worlds 2026, LOS still had to win one final series to keep their place in the CBLOL for next season.
LOS Could Have Entered Worlds 2026 Already Relegated to Tier 2
The situation drew attention from the League of Legends community, particularly because of the tight schedule between the two finals. Within just 48 hours, LOS had to compete for the CBLOL championship and then defend their place in the league for 2027.
This was because LOS entered the CBLOL 2026 season as the league's Guest Team, a position that must be defended through the Promotion Tournament every year, regardless of the team's results in the top division.
That meant LOS could have won the Brazilian championship only to lose their CBLOL 2027 spot two days later. Had that happened, the team would have headed to Worlds 2026 already knowing they would be competing in Tier 2 the following season.
The format and scheduling sparked discussions among Brazilian and international fans. The possibility of LOS competing at Worlds after being relegated to Tier 2 had already attracted attention before either final took place.
LOS Now Turn Their Attention to Worlds 2026
With both the CBLOL title and their place in next season's league secured, LOS can now turn their full attention to Worlds 2026, which will take place in the United States.
As the CBLOL 2026 Split 2 champions, LOS will represent Brazil as the region's first seed and advance directly to the Swiss Stage, skipping the Play-In Stage entirely.
LOS will begin their Worlds campaign on October 23, when the Swiss Stage gets underway in Allen, Texas. The stage runs from October 23 to 31, with 16 teams competing for eight spots in the knockout stage. LOS will learn their opening opponent once the first-round matchups are determined.
