Following the unsatisfactory conclusion to VCT 2024, Leviatán stars Erick “Aspas” Santos and Roberto “Mazino” Rivas are planning to depart from the roster.

During his appearance on the ‘Universo Valorant’ podcast, Leviatán CEO, Fernando “F10” Diez hinted at the duo’s departure

Leviatan creates a Superteam

The Brazilian superstar and arguably the best player in the world, Aspas joined Leviatán to win trophies. Unfortunately, the relationship was quickly strained as the organization decided to drop Nowzerr in favor of bringing in VALORANT Champions C0M.

Irrespective of the struggles, the team claimed the atmosphere is good ahead of the first official VCT 2024 tournament. Despite the star-studded lineup, Leviatan struggled and were eliminated by Sentinels to place 7th-9th.

They did recover during the regular season, qualifying for Mid-Season Playoffs. But placed third after losing to G2 Esports in the Lower Bracket Finals. Their Shanghai expedition wasn’t successful either.

Returning from Shanghai, they once again dominated domestically, this time winning the VCT 2024 Americas title. Come Champions 2024, they placed second in a group they were supposed to be the best team of.

They did make a deep run in the Playoffs, but were easily defeated by Team Heretics in the Lower Bracket Finals, placing only third.

For a squad with some of the biggest names in Americas’ VALORANT, Leviatan’s placements, especially internationally, were disappointing.

Aspas wants to Leave

Earlier in the Off//Season, reports of Aspas’ growing discontent with Leviatan surfaced and with it the growing suspicion that the Brazilian star will likely take his talents somewhere else.

Amid growing speculation, Leviatán CEO made an appearance on the ‘Universo Podcast’ and discussed the team’s future, confirming that ‘Mazino is 90% out’ and ‘Aspas is 80% out’ of the team.

Although neither party has confirmed/announced their decision, the CEO’s public word definitely puts the nail in the coffin. The team was also linked up with Demon1 earlier this week, further confirming the speculations.

As for Aspas and Mazino’s next moves, there haven’t been solid rumors, but both players have had good individual seasons and should undoubtedly have amazing offers for 2025.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
